Ok wood. Nowhere to park, have to park elsewhere and cross a busy road. Not good if you have dogs.

There nothing like a weekend walk to blow away the cobwebs & help you switch off from the world fortunately Devon is full of wonderful places to explore by foot the obvious choices are Dartmoor,exmoor & the south west coast path all of which are spectacular what ever the time of year but it’s easy to overlook some of the smaller lesser known spots in between one of those is eggesford forest is on the tarka train line between Barnstaple & Exeter nearby forest are good places to check out as well is Abbyford woods/nothcombe/fernworthy forest/stoke woods Ex18 7Qu

What a beautiful old forestry commission woodland. Just had a buzzard fly out in front of me. Large parking area with picnic benches around it.

Lovely place for a 45 minute dog walk. Would have given 5 stars but our walk was sadly ruined at the end by my dog being bitten by another dog on the walk. It was an old man with two collies and the collie that bit my dog I think was called Jess. The man didn’t even stop or apologise, just said ‘stop it Jess’ to the dog. Just a warning to watch out for this man and his aggressive dog which should really be muzzled.

Quite area, free parking with picnic area and tableled seating under the cover of trees. Easy walking with a few gradients

I use a mobility scooter, so pretty limited to where i can go, this is a fantastic place, very beautiful, although a bit bumpy , managed a lovely hour out,

This is a Beautiful place to just go for a walk, and if your like most of us that goes there with our Dogs, the Dogs absolutely love it there.
