We would unreservedly recommend Salisbury Eleven Plus. John was our daughter's tutor and he did a brilliant job! However naturally gifted a child is, it's best for them to be prepared before taking these exams, which are like nothing they will have experienced before. The programme John and Jan have created is so detailed, specific and comprehensive, that, if you are prepared to put the effort in at home, your child will have the most thorough preparation possible. John's teaching style is to encourage the students as well as inform them, with a good dash of humour thrown in too. Building up over the course of the year, each child gains a solid understanding of the exam content and how to approach each question type. As parents we found the communication was excellent and we were enabled to do a good job of supporting teaching, using the answer sheets and explanations provided.

Suggesting that your children have extra tuition is never going to be popular but I was delighted with everything about the service from Salisbury Eleven Plus. My children were tutored by Jan who was brilliant. She is clearly very experienced and her lessons were always focused and engaging. I would really recommend Salisbury Eleven Plus.

Both my son's have taken mock exams with Salisbury Eleven plus.It was very beneficial giving then good insight to the real exam.

I am writing this review because I have received the results and they are cracking wow! This is the reason why I travelled most Saturdays from Fawley-Newforest to Salisbury with my daughter to be taught. John and his staff understand what it takes to pass the 11+ exams, trust me it worth the journey. You cannot get this wrong, if and ONLY if, you and your child are ready to take on board what they advise and teach.John will go to the extent of advising what to buy and will not encourage parents to spend much. I had wanted to buy all learning packs but he helped me to control my anxiety and anxiousness. Jan, Alison, and all the staff, it’s seems you know how to go around the 11+ codes, especially, verbal reasoning. I am planning to travel again with my Year 4 boy to Salisbury Eleven Plus.

Salisbury 11+ tutored both of my daughters, in 2015 and 2019 respectively. Both successfully passed the exam. We were really impressed with the quality of tuition, resources, support and feedback. John and Jan Stringer are also highly experienced and knowledgeable about the admissions process for the Salisbury grammar schools and have provided both valuable information and also reassurance to parents as well as children. I simply cannot recommend them highly enough: any parent of children with grammar school aspirations should speak to them at the earliest opportunity.

Very highly recommended. A professional, extremely thorough and structured framework for 11+ tuition, conducted in a safe and highly respected school environment. Excellent course materials, workbooks, personalised advice and mock exams make this the most comprehensive service I have found. My son completed the full programme with John including several mocks. It is challenging and my son found it difficult at times, however, John remained very patient and was incredibly helpful when I needed advice on how to support my son at home. My son's aptitude has vastly increased as a result of the course. John is a fantastic tutor, striking the right balance of firm and fair with a dose of humour to keep the children engaged, positive, confident and motivated. John and this programme have given my son the very best chance to pass the 11+.

Over the past two years, both of my daughters have been taught by John and Janette at Salisbury 11+. I cannot recommend them enough. Their patience and expertise in delivering these topics has enabled my daughters to have confidence in subjects they once struggled. Their feedback was always informative and helped us as parents to identify areas of improvement.

We signed up for tutorial sessions for our daughter through year5, her maths confidence has significantly improved and this has helped with all areas in school. We don’t yet know the 11+ Results but irrespective of that we would thoroughly recommend the salisbury eleven plus support!

Would highly recommend John and all the tutors. My daughter has just passed her 11+ and Alison was her tutor. The whole programme of lessons, summer lessons, extras and mock exams really prepared Aimee for the exam. It also gave her a real boost in subjects she was not so confident in.
