Our bricks and mortar seemed to be hell-bent on causing us strife, the wear and tear over the years was self-evident, and it needed fixing.Contacted a couple of builders and Jamie from J H Brickwork Swindon, ticked all the right boxes so decided to give him the project.For anyone who is thinking of re-pointing, there are a few things to bear in mind! It's very messy, especially when removing old mortar, the dust will find a way to get in despite one's best attempt to keep it out. Whoever you choose to use, it isn't going to be cheap, it's laborious work and takes time. You will need to prepare for scaffolding, a skip and a place for sand and cement etc.Jamie, Gavin, Stuart and the rest of the team have been great and took care of handling the whole project. They have valuable experience and expertise in negotiating the various challenges.Our repointing looks great, they have always been happy to clear up after them and communication has been excellent with frequent text messages etc.As of today, the scaffolding is still up and the rubbish skip is here, but I have no doubt, they will be dealt with professionally and be removed after this weekend.Would I recommend Jamie and his team for this and other projects?Of course, I would. Good builders and trades are like rocking horse s**t. If you find a good one, they are worth their weight in gold.

I needed an internal wall raked out and re-pointed with a lime mix. Jamie called in to answer any questions and explain the approach. It was a very messy job and work could only be carried out in shifts between his colleagues due to the level of dust created. Jamie and his gang completed the work without complaint and with a proactive can do effort. The work was completed on time and the finished result look amazing.
