This has to be the very best hall in Edinburgh for a family Ceilidh, which I organised from the North of Scotland.Bernadette who took my booking and deposit was very kind and very helpful, as was Ryan who showed me round this beautiful hall on two ocassions.Communication was excellent throughout and I must thank Bernadette and her team for being so co-operative and genuinely helpful. The hall has been recently decorated, spacious with fabulous facilities, with such a very well equipped kitchen and a large fridge to store your food items on the day, dependant on whether the hall was in use or not.The stage and dance floor are fantastic, with tables and chairs already provided for my family event of around 70 guests who made great use of the dance floor.I had done all my catering in my home kitchen beforehand, packed my pre prepared food and stored it in the kitchen fridge, with only some reassembly to be done, prior to my family Ceilidh.I brought all my own glassware, cutlery, paper plates, dishes and containers from home, so if there were any breakages, they were my own property. We tidied up and cleaned up, at the end of our event, so were packed up, to be finished at 11pm.All our guests young and old, from all corners of Scotland were blown away with the facilities and the central location of this church hall, which I cannot recommended highly enough.Thank you again, all at Lauriston Hall.

The OWNER was incredibly rude to a customer who had her friend take a photo of her in her new kilt (but she did not know that a live clown act would pop out of no where). Instead of politely reminding her of the NO CELL PHONE policy -he marched up to her and told her to leave (even though she was the host of over 15 other ppl who she had brought to the ceili. He actually used the words “I am disgusted by your behavior” for merely having her photo taken. It turns out that she is a professional chaperone of youth performers at the Fringe and one of the kindest and most responsible leaders. This owner needs to retire as he has no bed side manner and has a contempt for customers- that has no place in the entertainment business

Went for a birthday party and was quite impressed with the hall. It is quite roomy and could accommodate at least 150 guests.

An excellent venue for a private function, a Lauriston Jesuit Centre talk, or a good ceilidh! Great kitchen facilities for serving food or drinks, handicap accessible, and beautifully decorated.
