Great pub , good selection of real ales and other beverages, locals, but friendly to non-locals, great events, like a weekly folk club. For a non-city-centre pub, I think the price of a pint of ale is a bit steep, other wise, wonderful. 4 and a half stars

No matter what your background, occupation, age etc - all is welcome in this friendly old fashioned pub that is still relevant in todays age. Dogs are first class citizens and the garden is the hidden gem!

Nice bar serving a great selection of beers. Dog friendly and great atmosphere. Live music nights and quiz nights. Lovely selection of draft beers on tap.

A hidden gem, very relaxing, cosy - reminds of pubs I miss back home (Crosby, Liverpool)... thinking The Volunteer or Crows Nest. Great beers and service too!

It was my first time here as I was visiting a friend. This is a great proper pub, not like those plastic ones around the city. It has a great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly . I shall definitely return.
