Very disappointed - Felt very unwelcomeIt was the first time we used Springfield Kennels & Cat Hotel, we will not be booking with them again.We arrived for 9:30am to check in our cat, amongst three other pet owners who arrived at the same time and who were also checking in their pets. We were greeted by an extremely rude woman who barely said hello, but rather “these people are first” and aggressively badged past us.I appreciate that a few customers checking in their pets at the same time can be overwhelming, but we were really in no rush at all and the lady made such a drama about it which was completely unnecessary - It instantly made us feel very unwelcome.Eventually when the lady came to us, she aggressively ordered for us to provide our cats vaccination and passport documents - Everything felt very rushed and that we were an inconvenience. The phone then rang, where clearly the lady was already overwhelmed but decided to answer it anyway whilst dealing with us, which I thought was extremely unprofessional - Again, I understand it can be frustrating for staff when it is busy, but it is no way to treat a customer (the woman even had an aggressive tone on the phone, assuming whilst speaking to another perspective customer).The lady then let out a massive sigh when she asked if we had completed a new customer form (which of course we hadn’t, as we were never instructed to complete anything before arrival when we had spoke to the staff on the phone previously).After the check in forms were completed, as it was the first time we had used Springfield Kennels & Cat Hotel, we kindly asked if we could see the cattery, as any loving pet owner in their right mind would naturally want to see where their cat is staying - The lady again very aggressively replied “No, we are too busy” - We refused to leave until she allowed us to see the cattery, as her attitude did not provide us any confidence at all at this point. The lady then very abruptly slammed open the door and dramatically shouted “See! There you go, it’s fine”.The whole experience was terrible and left us feeling very uncomfortable leaving our loving pet with this organisation, although had no other choice due to time.Upon collecting our cat the next day, I spoke to another member of staff as I felt it was needed to address our experience the prior day. This staff member was very apologetic and I could see she felt embarrassed (as perhaps it is a regular occurrence where this one aggressive member of staff lets the whole establishment down).You either need to train this particular staff member to treat your paying customers with respect and/or perhaps operate a structure where you check in customers at specific times, if it’s too busy to handle - No excuse for poor service.

I am disappointed.My cat spent a week there during Christmas until New Year's Eve. When I left my cat I was informed that from 25 to 29 I would not be able to call and ask if everything was okay with my friend!The old woman who cleaned there was not nice, I saw that my questions and requests irritated her and she generally looked like a nervous person. I immediately regretted that my cat was staying there, but it was too late to change my mind.Today afternoon I picked up my cat.I was very surprised that she was brought from a different place than the one where I left her. When I asked a young girl (I think the owners' daughter) whether my cat was moved to another place during her stay, she said yes. She explained that Christmas time is busy and thats why they changing pens! Where they moved her? I do not know. Why do they move my cat during her stay if I paid for the pen I was shown? If they change pens, what is the difference between them? How can I be sure that my cat had a good place for which I paid?Why is my cat worse than others and she was moved to another place to make space for new cat?I do not understand. This is big stress for pet.Now the worse part ....When I came home with my cat, it turned out that she stinks terribly.Also her stuff and bed!I can't describe the smell.Really disgusting. Like fece and probably a strong disinfectant, more like bleach! I had to give her a quick bath.It's a pity because the place seemed perfect for my pet and I was hoping to leave her there in the future.

Springfield Kennels & Cat Hotel
I was last minute in need of a cattery, through my own fault of not realising how busy it would be being school holidays. My cat, Bobs, had never been in a cattery before and I think I was more worried than she was.Before making the booking I was able to go to the cattery and view the premises - which were amazing. The cats had their own little enclosure each with access to an outside area where they could view the woodland. Lots of climbing bits and beds. A luxury room for a cat! The cats that were there looked so calm and chilled I felt really at ease knowing my cat would be the same.The deposit, drop off time and all the details were explained clearly and staff were absolutely brilliant. I would highly recommend Springfield for anyone's cattery needs.

Put my old dog in for our holiday, his first time in kennels, he must have been happy as he didn't come home skinny, he obviously was eating well.

Springfield Kennels & Cat Hotel
We have 2 Dobermans and the female does not like having her nails clipped, most groomers we have taken her to just can't do it, she gets so anxious. These folks are the only ones who are able to do it, so worth every penny. We book our 2 in for the full treatment and they always come back back sleek and shiny and smelling lovely and happy (very important). The staff are always friendly and kind with the dogs and provide little tips on grooming and general care.

We have been bringing our cats and dogs to this wonderful kennels for many years. The staff are conscientious, caring and reliable. Our pets are always happy to go in and happy when they come out. I couldn’t recommend this kennels highly enough.

I would recommend Springfield kennels as we have just collected our rescue lurcher who has previously displayed anxious behaviour in kennels. The staff gave her medication and kept an eye on her, she is acting as though nothing of import happened. This was a huge relief as we were worried she might revert to previous behaviour

Five stars fully deserved. Excellent Lisa as always. Had to have our cat Sisi looked after. We were lucky to have available dates so book early always. We were lucky. Springfield is popular for a reason!We highly recommend : )

We left our dog for two weeks. He was fine but I was was surprised by the condition of his fur. He was groomed prior to the stay and upon collection his fur was matted all over and he had dried mud all around his mouth. He also smelled awfully bad. We had to bath our dog once he was home and is now booked for another groom. That said, he seemed to be fine especially as it was his first time. If we decide to use these kennels again - I would like to see the inside of the kennel to better understand the access he has and where the walks take place. I did request a viewing but it was not thorough and felt an inconvenience with excuses as to why I could not see more of the place. In addition, it would be nice if customers can pay by card or bank transfer. In these modern times accepting payment by cash is not efficient ( or tax friendly) and cumbersome especially when the local cash machine is not working!

Springfield Kennels & Cat Hotel
Our usual kennels closed business and after a little searching we found Springfield and, what a little gem. Its very clean and well kept with a good staff / customer feel and our Boxer (Bill) seemed to have enjoyed himself there. Our 2nd visit, Bill was through the door without looking back at us which, was strangely comforting.
