NTHC - Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre

Visited a few times over the years for bonfire night fireworks displays with fairground and miniature railway fun with the kids. Great time out for the family with food drinks and stalls.

A must visit place. A great bunch of volunteers who make your experience unforgettable for any age. We even took in the free bus ride to Clifton

We and my 3 yers old son had a wonderful time there. You can see old trains and buses there. In a small cafe you can order delicious food. We also have been lucky enough to have a ride in a small train for a pound.

A lovely trip on the railway with really nice and helpful staff.We went in off peak so there wasn't much going on around the area, we weren't sure where to buy a ticket or what to do while waiting for the train. My partner's five year old loved looking at the miniature trains and when the steam train pulled in he was just speechless :) I'd go again just for that face of pure joy.

This is an awesome site with lots of things to see and do. It is targeted at those who prefer diesels rather than steam, and includes a number of interesting exhibits.Of particular importance is the prototype HST which now runs on occasional weekends. The classic Valenta engines produce their famous sound giving an amazing experience.Other exhibits include a collection of diesels, including a maintenance shed, a model railway, a miniature railway and a selection of preserved buses.Definitely well worth a visit. Check the 125 Group's web site first if you're after the HST to ensure you're not disappointed.

Its a great concept that somehow does not quite deliver. I like trains, busses and model engineering so this should be perfect. But.The railway side seemed not to be bothered, there was a cabin with some people sitting around a meeting table but no information, the station has a row of derelict MK2 stock and a dlass 43 unit. No information or interpretation. Like wise a nice collection of ex Barton busses but no information on them. The Model engineering Society had a shop but again no information on projects or membership.I know its difficult, i have volunteered and worked on heritage attractions but this could be so good with a bit of coordination and some thought.

Great place for children. My grandson loves going here. He loves riding on the little trains and at 50p a go it doesn't break the bank and has numerous rides on the different trains. Thomas being his favourite. He also loves watching the model trains display.
