Much quieter carpark than the main Midgehole one and stunning views and walk down by the big waterfall

A more scenic alternative parking spot to get to Hardcastle Craggs. A fairly easy downhill trek to Gibson Mill. Extremely pretty and hardly any crowd as most people get to Gibson Mill from the other side. However no mobile reception at the car park. A notice states to pay and display, but no parking meter in operation when we went.

Car park cost £5 for all day. Perfect to start walk around Hardcastle Craggs.

Lots of parking spaces available, it is the furthest away and steepest of the two car parks available for the crags and mill, but I think that will make it more likely to get a spot on busy days. A wee bit awkward to get to with roadworks going on down the road, but a spotless car park. Easy to use parking meter when the staff aren't on hand in the hut. Free to National Trust members and £5 for the whole day for everyone else I believe.

Hard castle crag was an ace day out. A nice steady walk down the trail down to the beautiful old mill and cafe, walking thru beautiful feilds of blue bells and plenty of tree species for the botanists in all of us. Nice picnic area a short walk from the cafe and ice cream parlour. River crossing stones for brave of heart and lots of cool shallows for the dogs to paddle in. There are 4 trails to enjoy all colour coded and sign posted if like me your cartography skills a slightly lacking. The crag is a fun climb to so you can enjoy the picturesque valley views. The dog thoroughly enjoyed his adventure too. Not to far away you have the moors to explore and reservoirs to enjoy. Another great national trust day out

Great views of Gragg vale from the car park. From the car park there is a steep but maintained path down to Gibson mill good ti look around if open there is a cafe serving drinks and food, there are some interesting composting toilets. There are walks to the mill pond and up to the greggs and further if you want.

It's a car park! Unpaved but nicely compacted stone. Great views and paths down to walks and Hardcastle Crag. Pay and display although the machine was not working when I was there. NT members free of course. Small picnic area with giant photo frame and nice dry stone walling. Very loud birdlife!

This is National Trust car park and if you have the card in hand the entry and carpark is free and allowing you to enter the most National Trust and National Trust for Scotland places. Had a beautiful view of countryside from this point. I parked there and my destination was Hardcastle Crags. Highly recommend this place.
