Not impressed with Rampion - they've written to me regards cable laying through the National Park - I've called, left a message via the the website contact page and a specific e'mail (to the address they supplied for further information). Nothing - a blank wall of silence. Why ask for feedback if you can't give it!!

Incredible sight and very impressive when up close. Hard to understand how huge the turbines are from land and how fast the tips travel! Feels very surreal and if you have a boat would recommend swinging by. Seems to be a great spot for catching Mackerel too.

Interesting to learn more about Rampion, the boat ride was a bit choppy but they were careful to monitor the situation.

Rampion Offshore Wind Farm
Commissioned in April 2018, with a total capacity of 400MW, this offshore wind farm was developed originally by E.ON but is now operated by its majority shareholder, RWE Renewables. Post commissioning it was renamed ‘Rampion’, after a flower known as ‘The Pride of Sussex’, following a competition amongst local schools. The wind farm is located in the English Channel, 13-20km from the Sussex coast, stretching from East Worthing to Brighton. Offshore it comprises 116 off Mitsubishi Hitachi (parent company of Vestas) wind turbine generators (WTGs), each rated at 3.45MW, and a single substation. Electricity is transmitted from this offshore substation by two 16km export cables, which come to shore at the beach near Brooklands Pleasure Park, Lancing.Although some people complain WTGs are an eyesore, projects such as this are essential if the UK Government is to achieve its climate change targets. In addition it brings much needed skilled jobs, through operations & maintenance activities, to the local area.
