We had a blocked drain that they unclogged very professionally. It was a huge task that required all the plumbing tools and techniques that exist. They have the experience and a friendly team that support the process end-to-end.

We had a gas issue on a Sunday and had struggled to find an available emergency plumber before finding Anderson & Sons who were polite and prompt. The gas engineer Daniel was very open and was able to diagnose and explain the problem while ensuring the house was safe.

Three hours charge to change two taps washers. Never will I ever recommend or use this company again. Deliberate slow work to rack up the hours and 45 minutes to buy washers from a plumbers merchants that should be in every plumbers toolbag and were ‘local’. Also bent one tap backwards. And said it was like that before where I have pictures that it wasn’t. Will make up an excuse why it took 3 hours to change washers. Not worth the effort to complain.

We have used and recommended Anderson’s many times to our clientele and the feedback has always been good. Good old fashioned, honest family run company. I highly Recommend!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The worst experience with a plumbing company.The issue I had was the water was only coming out either hot water only or cold water only. I was told it should be an easy fix, just a simple valve replacement he just had to pop to the store 20mins tops. Over 2 hours later he returned to inform me they didn't have the part but he has ordered it. Then he proceeded to give me an invoice for 4 hours of labor 2.5 of which he was driving to a store I can only assume was in Manchester for how long it took and 45mins unloading and loading his car. But they had already ordered it so after disputing the charge I booked to have the valve installed as I needed to use the shower asap and he said it would only take a few hours tops to install the part.Get to the end of the second job and I nearly fell off my chair. To change one shower tap they are trying to charge me for a total of 12 hours. They completely ruined the tiles/wall behind and just left it, leaving the shower useless until I fix it at my own expense (see attached photo). They also purchased the new tap without consulting me after originally telling me it was just an internal valve and installed a tap that I never would have chosen.Additionally, DO NOT GIVE YOUR CARD DETAILS OVER THE PHONE. They have made multiple attempts to charge my card the balance of the invoice without my approval (which is illegal) and I am in the process of taking it further with Trading Standards.Finally, the plumber tried to tell me that he needed to get one of their electricians in (at my expense) because the temperature control was not responsive. I later had it checked checked and it was working completely fine.I attached a photo of how it was left.

Sam Brooks came to our flat in Micklethwaite Road and carried out 4 plumbing tasks in the day, all to our great satisfaction. He was friendly and courteous; highly skilled; and was careful to avoid creating dirt and leaving rubbish. Many thanks, Sam!

The service itself was excellent. The engineer did the survey and repaired the damage to my boiler and I have nothing but good things to say about him.However, they’re internal ways of approving jobs, parts, signatures, it’s incredibly time wasting. Time wasting for the engineer, but also time wasting for me as I got charged 3 (could have been 4 actually) hours of work.It took 20min just for them to take a partial payment for him to go and pick up a part.I signed at least 6 god knows what pages he had to fill in on his phone.Whilst the job was well done, I feel like they quote you for an amount of hours and then waste time to charge you more and more.

This is a difficult review to write, because the quality of the plumbing work and the building work were excellent, but the project management and planning of the project, the length of time the work took and attitude of the company towards putting right damage caused in undertaking the work was not so good.This project was originally quoted to be a two man one day job to update a few components of a 20 year old bathroom, but it spiralled into a much larger job. It was eventually 5 weeks before the bathroom was completed. In the end the job has took 2 days for 2 men plus half a day for 1 man with the plumbing work at the start then to complete the work it needed 1 man , a builder from Anderson and Sons to attend for 2 days. This meant that the costs ended up much higher than originally quoted.As the work progressed, I fully understood that the inadequacies of the original bathroom setup required more work than had been originally estimated. The plumber, Daniel S, explained the difficulties as they arose and I fully understood the need for the further work. I was happy for the work to extend the work to replace a few more bathroom components than originally intended and for some of the structure of the bathroom to be removed to allow access for work, namely the removal of that bath sides and three wall tiles. This was to allow access to a concealed cutoff valve.Daniel S was an excellent and conscientious plumber and problem-solver. I felt confident in his judgement and I felt reassured by his knowledge and expertise. The builder Franko was also conscientious and a meticulous craftsman who was keen to make the finished effect as well-presented as possible.The difficulties arose from damage during the works to the linoleum that was torn when the bath sides were removed. The linoleum was unfixed and could have been moved aside, however this was not done my the assistant plumber and a 9 inch tear was left in the flooring. At the start of the job, I had had no plans to change the flooring .The other other disappointing aspect was that is that I was expected to pay for the replacement linoleum myself. I would have expected such damage caused during a job to have been covered by Anderson and Sons' insurance policy and for the company to pick up this cost of the replacement material. I was happy to pay for the parts and labour to replace the bath sides and the tiles. This was integral to the work being completed.Daniel S did manage to obtain a reduction on the cost of the replacement linoleum, so that I eventually paid half the cost of the material.Positives:1. Daniel S is an excellent plumber and I highly valued his high quality workmanship and advice.2. Franko is an excellent builder and his attention to detail very impressive.Negatives:I understand that the job was more problematic than appeared at first sight. However,1. The time form start to completion took around 5 weeks, much longer than I had expected.2. I was disappointed that Anderson and Sons are not prepared to make good the unnecessary damage done to the flooring without me incurring further cost.

WARNING! - Honestly the worst experience with any tradesmen I have ever had.Issues:1.) All piping in first fix was out of place e.g. radiators not centred and piping wrong width apart (resulting in the bodge job seen in photos).2.) Parts gone missing, valves and expensive custom parts to taps and nozzles.3.) Waste for toilet so far out that they where unable to install the toilet that was onsite from the beginning of the project (as where the radiators)4.) Constant cancellations without any warning just simply wouldn't turn up and I mean literally every day for TWO WEEKS re-booking for the following day and calling in the morning to confirm attendance only to be received by rude and confrontational staff. (not you kate.)5.) The manager of our project simply didn't answer his phone but had the cheek to call and ask for final payment despite the project not being complete and having messed me around for over a month.6.) Still waiting for a Gas certificate that has been done finally but not sent over to me weeks later....Please trust me. This wasn't one bad experience this was ever single interaction I had with them. I work as a project manager for a property renovations company, working with many different trades and dealing with various issues onsite. I rarely post reviews but this was so god awful it was required.Final note. The only light in the tunnel was Kate the Aussie I spoke to when calling for help. Thank you.
