I had the misfortune of rupturing my achilles whilst playing 5-a-side in March this year. Having seen a consultant who determined a non-surgical recovery with physio was the most appropriate course of treatment, I was put in touch with Mel South at Hampshire Wellbeing as the go-to expert in recovering from this type of injury. For anyone who has experienced a similar injury, you will know that recovery is both a huge physical and mental challenge, particularly when everyday life is so significantly disrupted where you're on crutches and unable to drive for months rather than weeks. The fear of doing further damage whilst the achilles is repairing is also constantly at the front of your mind and the first 8-12 weeks are particularly difficult as you adapt to a very different day to day existence. With her in-depth experience and knowledge, as well as clear passion for this area of specialism, Mel fully appreciates all the challenges you will be going through and will help put your mind at rest and face into the road to recovery that lies ahead. She will hold you to account to ensure you're doing the exercises between sessions as well as keep you motivated when perhaps you're feeling that you're not making as much progress as you should be. I always came away from the sessions feeling optimisitic and energised that a full recovery would be possible. So here we are 9 months since my injury occurred, and around 7 months since physio started, and I've now been discharged with no further sessions needed. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Mel is one of the best in the business and if you have any foot, ankle or achilles problems you should get in touch straight away...I genuinely could not recommend her enough. Thanks for everything Mel!

Have used Hampshire Wellbeing services several times over the last 3 years (as has my husband and son). These guys really are experts in their field! Having gone to other providers previously and during this time..I can honestly say I wouldn't go anywhere else - if they are booked up there's a reason for this and they're definitely worth the wait. I have seen Paul for and Steph for a fairly serious lower back injury and was in acute pain and now 100% fully recovered as well as seeing Paul for a running related hip injury and more recently ongoing (10 months)neck pain after 2 sessions with Paul 90% better. Whilst home exercises are necessary to recovery their expert manipulation skills are second to none and I completely trust these guys. Absolutely recommend these guys!

She is very knowledgeable and experienced, innovative, listens and is patient, positive, kind and fun. I’ve made really speedy progress thanks to Mel being such a great physio. The facilities at the Centre are great and there’s always a warm welcome at reception.

The only treatment that gave me hope in more than a decade.Since 2008 I have seen different specialists to treat my right shoulder. Acupuncture, Osteopath, Chiropractor, Physiotherapists.Only with Paul McIntyre I could see progress. It was beyond feeling better. It is a proof that I can live without pain.I regret not trying his treatment earlier.

Off the back of a cycling accident I was referred to the HWC because they had the best physios in the area. I went in with mechanical issues with my left knee and hip. After one session and following the exercises recommended there was a huge leap forward in movement and a reduction in pain. After a course of 5 sessions, I am back to peak mechanical movement, back to where I was before the accident.Mel South was fantastic with me. Reassuring, kind and explained things clearly. Mels advice and diagnoses was spot on, and essentially gave me all the tools I needed to repair myself. The facilities are great, all the staff I encountered were friendly and the backdrop isn't too bad either. Thanks HWC!

Visiting Hampshire Wellbeing Centre for physio following a Tibial Plateau comminuted fracture. Paul McIntyre has been working with me on my rehabilitation, he is great! He's understanding, and communicates my recovery steps really well, he creates my exercise regime and clearly explains every step! I am now 20 weeks post surgery and I am seeing great results through my regular sessions with Paul. Highly recommend!

Myself and my partner have been seeing Paul for the best part of 8 years now, he has helped us both tremendously in keeping us injury free allowing us to run our fitness business without any pains or niggles. His attention to detail and caring nature instantly make you feel calm when you enter the room. A special note to also say that the welcome you get from the receptionists and reminders you receive about appointments are a really nice touch. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paul and the team to any of our family or friends.
