Creative World

Definitely would not recommend. We hired them to replace our bathroom and kitchen with work starting at the beginning of January last year. Initially we were told the work would take 6-8 weeks and it was finally complete nearly 10 months later. Terry allocated two ‘teams’ to do the different rooms which turned out to be one lead person on each and another person who switched between the jobs. As a result, when the kitchen people helped out in the bathroom, work on the kitchen stopped. Despite allocating his teams, Terry then denied any responsibility for the work and constantly referred us back to the ‘teams’. The old bathroom was quickly taken out and the plumber then disappeared for over a week leaving us with nothing. A whole string of excuses for postponing the work/only coming for short periods of time followed leaving us feeling that we were never a priority. This wasn’t helped when the wrong size parts were ordered by Creative World who designed, measured and ordered everything for the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen team were more reliable and came when they said they would. Hampered again by mis-ordering; lack of communication about what the job entailed; and expectations that we would accept botch together materials. We are massively grateful to TKA Structural Engineers who did a fantastic job when an external brick layer told us that we needed drawings/building control for some of the work. No-one from Creative World or their allocated people would take responsibility for organising or overseeing the work or advising us on what needed to be in place for the work to be safe and legal.We chose Creative World because we were given the clear impression that the work would be managed and monitored regularly by Terry. In reality contact was predominantly initiated by us and the work involved constant involvement by us. Problems evolved as the work progressed because of mis-measuring and product ordering – a hob that was too wide for the space it was built to fit; a microwave that we ended up ordering ourselves because, again, the wrong size was ordered; a made to measure fridge door that took ages to order when we wouldn’t accept a cut down version with a taped edge. Repairs were quickly needed to end panels because raw edges were left and split as they became damp. We had to hire a joiner separately to repair and re-hang both kitchen and bathroom doors because they wouldn’t close properly. The final result is at best okay – there are still things that aren’t perfect. At no point has Terry been to check the final job or contacted us to ask whether we are satisfied with the work.

Terry and his team at Creative are genuine, helpful and offer a great service. With many years experience you know you are in safe hands. Terry helped me out in redesigning, measuring and painstakingly re ordering my kitchen after I had been let down by another local company. I would thoroughly recommend them.

I have had 3 projects carried out previously by Creative World - a full bathroom renovation, a cloak room WC & most recently the most beautiful kitchen I could have wished for.Everything was faultless from start to finish. The highest of praise must go to the perfection of Terry’s designs. The quality of the products & workmanship also second to none.Everyone that walked in to my home was totally bowled over by the kitchen.Having recently moved house, I will not hesitate to use Creative again for all upcoming projects that are in the pipeline!

I had my tired old kitchen refurbished by Creative World. I am very pleased with the result as it now looks as good as new. Terry was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The installation went very smoothly. Highly recommended.

Definitely would not recommend this company.The planning and design part of the refurbishment of our 2 bathrooms went well and gave us confidence to go ahead with Creative World. Terry gave some interesting suggestions/options which we had not previously considered, the selection of sanitary ware and fittings etc. was good and things looked really promising.The fitter assigned the job came with no real knowledge of the task ahead except that he was refitting 2 rooms! I provided him with the basic plans, that we had been emailed, which he took a cursory glance at. I quickly started to wonder whether this was the first time the fitter and his plumber had fitted a bathroom. They used no floor coverings, until we insisted that they either brought shoes to change into or covered the floors. They damaged 2 interior doors and caused a flood through the light fitting into the dining room, due to lack of care and no risk assessment about the age/condition of the original pipework.We went around daily clearing and cleaning up after them and ‘snagging’ the work they had carried out that day. They spent as much time re-doing or fixing the work from the previous day as they did fitting new items into the rooms. WE managed the work and the team in reality. We did not contact Terry as we were concerned that the work would become even more ‘sloppy’. When we did eventually contact Terry he replied via an email from Kelly rather than ‘manning up’ and responding himself or coming out to see the poor quality of the work.The door of the quadrant shower made a scraping noise from the time of installation, which neither the fitter nor plumber could stop/remedy, so they suggested only hanging the door from the top rail and bypassing the fitting in the bottom rail completely! We did not accept this as a solution.We then had adjustments carried out to the quadrant shower by a technician from Kudos, who dismantled the cubicle and refitting and sealing it according to the fitting instructions.We noticed rust running down the back board of the main shower just 3 months after fitting. Creative World sent out an alternative plumber to remedy this - a nut behind the control bar that had not been tightened and was leaking.The electrician and plasterer were actually good and carried out their part of the work with professionalism and care. We were under the impression that the people who would come and carry out the work were employed by Terry. This does not seem to be the case. They are all self-employed and work on a number of other projects at the same time resulting in there being gaps in the time they spent on our job. We were promised an expert team - all the experts must have been on Annual Leave as we were sent the incompetents.Sealing does not seem to be a skill that these fitters have mastered! Many joints were not sealed properly, sealant was left to dry on the backboard, some back boards were not cut with straight edges. The cuts out shelves for cosmetics were fixed sloping inwards so the water now does not drain out into the shower.The 2 rooms are just OK and I live in fear every time I use them that we will find another leak or have another flood. We have now had a flood from the toilet in the secondary bathroom which has been fixed by a different plumber sent out by Creative World, but Terry is now intimating that the leak has somehow been caused by something we have done in the last 5 months! Maybe vacuuming too vigorously? Creative World accept that the fixings had come loose but are putting the blame for this on US rather than initial poor fitment!Peace of mind and satisfaction is NOT something we have achieved through this experience and we get no joy from the finished work, just a dread in the pits of our stomachs every time we use the facilities. The 12 month guarantee given is worthless. Stay away from this company if you want a decent job doing.

We are very happy with the total transformation of our kitchen from an old, tired, decidedly unattractive and unhygienic area where you really wouldn't want to linger, to a clean, light,airy and most attractive working kitchen.The whole process was explained thoroughly and, from first ordering to completion ,was carried out speedily and efficiently to a very high standard; any queries/snags were dealt with promptly in friendly fashion. Being new to the area,it was purely by chance that we came across Creative World but we couldn't have wished for a better service or, indeed, a better end result and we would absolutely recommend Creative World Kitchens to anyone wanting to have a beautiful new kitchen created solely for them.Very many thanks to Terry, Kelly and Chris for making our kitchen such a beautiful space.( Unfortunately we didn't take any before" photos.)"
