Cumberland Bird of Prey Centre

A really great and enjoyable family session today at the centre. Gary was very patient with our young sons and even allowed our 18 month old to spend time with the birds. The adults really enjoyed flying the birds too. Many thanks for making us so welcome.

What an amazing experience. Cannot recommend a visit to the Cumberland Bird of Prey Centre enough - could do it all again. The half day activity is an amazing few hours spent with Gary and his birds. His knowledge is off the scale and his passion shows. The relationship he has with his birds is remarkable to see. Included in the half day was the Hawk Walk which was magical. Gary is such a lovely guy, felt very welcome and comfortable from the start. I booked the experience for my partner, however, this experience could be enjoyed by the WHOLE family, no age limitations - don’t sit on the fence, book! You will have the best time ever and have some extra special memories. Thank you Gary and of course, thank you to the birds.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the bird of prey centre, Gary is so friendly he has so much knowledge and a very close relationship with each and every one of his birds, the birds are pristine top condition as well as their enclosures, My wife was a little apprehensive at first but Gary talked us through each bird before he let any fly to us, amazing experience one we will never forget, the walk through the woodland with the Harris hawk was spectacular, we will definitely return and recommend this experience highly.

Had the most amazing afternoon with Gary and his very well kept and cared for birds. You can tell he's passionate about his job and the relationship he has with these beautiful birds is just lovely to watch. His knowledge is just incredible, loved feeding them and learnt so much. Honestly enjoyed every minute. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone. Even our 2 yr old grandson had a little go. Gary has time to spend with you and is such a nice guy, he made us all so welcome. Arrived as strangers and felt like we left as friends. Can't thank you enough for making our day.

Amazing place.I thought the price was a little on the expensive side before we went, but after seeing my son's face light up, it was worth every penny.Personally, I would say groups of 2 allow you to get the most out of your time.Friendly and very knowledgeable staff.Birds are very well cared for.Make sure you book in advance, you can't just turn up.I 100% recommend this place and will be back.

We had a wonderful half day experience being introduced to and flying a lovely range of birds including owls, Harris Hawk, Peregrine, Caracara, Eagle and Turkey Vulture. Gary has an amazing knowledge of and experience in falconry and a really close relationship with his birds. Taking the Harris Hawk for a walk in the forest was a real highlight. Thank you very much!

Had the most fabulous experience today, did a half day experience, a truly wonderful time meeting and learning so much about the different birds. They are all so beautiful and are such amazing characters. Gary is so knowledgeable and a lovely person who made me feel at ease immediately. I would say it was one of the best times I have had and I would highly recommend anyone to book this unique experience.I feel quite bereft leaving such fabulous birds and if I lived nearer I feel I would be volunteering to help out, loved it so much.
