Severn Beach Promenade & Riverbank
One of the best walking (and cycling) spots in Bristol. Catch the train out to Severn Beach, head to the path and walk. Wonderful views of the estuary with some incredible views and wildlife.Migratory birds, the odd seal, and always a bracing breeze. Just magic. Will be even better when they fully open the walkway to the old bridge (currently closed due to sea wall reinforcement - hopefully open sometime in 2023).Rain or shine you always see something new. Sunset vistas can be magnificent but you can risk missing the last train out of the beach at weekends, although it may well be worth it.

Always a lovely walk. Very popular with dog walkers. Lovely views. Will be happy when the coastal walk is fully open.Lovely bakery. Lovely tea room. Lovely café. Also, Mcolls is there. There's a park not far from the water. Handy train station too.Good spot for fishing.Locals are very friendly.

The calmness of the water masks the power of the tides in this estuary. Great place to blow the cobwebs away on a well paved path.I've been over the bridges many times but have never seen them from river level. Hoping to do the Avonmouth to Gloucester run in a narrowboat next year!

Great walk for some fresh sea air. Easy +2mile flat walk on the sea front with views of the Severn River and Bridges to Wales. Nice friendly tea room to refresh and reward your walk.

Great promenade with small cafe. Impressive views across the Severn estuary. Great people watching whilst sitting in the sun. Plenty of benches and grass areas for a picnic.Top tip 1 - bring wellies is quite muddy if you want to go on the beach.Top Tip 2 - Parking is limited. Park sensibly to allow people to get in and out of there driveways.Top Tip 3 - bring the bikes for the kids plenty of space for them to learn to ride.

Easy walking spot along the promenade with great views across the water to Wales. The path is wide and flat, fairly straight and easy to navigate. Overall this is a good location to go for a stroll, though the path disappears after about an hour or so.

A wonderful place to walk, run or ride.Don't come if your looking for the seaside or a beach with sand etc. It's the rivers estuary.It can get extremely windy especially in the winter months.There are fantastic views of both bridge's across the river. Definitely a place to bring a camera.There are a few cafés nearby as well as a bakery and some shops.It's a good pit stop area but clearly not the seaside.
