Pleasant enough. The staff were friendly and accommodating. No coffee shop when I visited, which was a pity. For someone disabled (which I am) being able to sit down for a mid-shop cuppa makes all the difference. Don't get disheartened, though; Debenhams, just across the road, has a terrific little coffee franchise on the ground floor.

Looking for clothes but can't try things on.I cant see the difference in everyone picking stuff up and looking at it but can't try it on.Plus no sizes just whats on the shelf place is now a shambles.Customer service non existent.Shame off to Psyche.

Very helpful staff. As with Debenhams will miss the personal shop experience immensely. Nothing like the personal touch and advice on purchase by a friendly face. Thank you for all your years of very good service

Oh dear. How the mighty have fallen, feel sorry for the staff. Store is turning into a clothing outlet rather than a nice place to shop. Avoid unless you are 100% sure of your purchase because you'll really struggle with the HOF returns policy now.

Made an order on 30Sept still waiting for delivery on 8thOct. Order didn't even get processed till 3rdOct. Nobody been in touch to apologise or explain. Disgusting service won't be using them again.

I'm really perplexed how this store gets such a high score. I went in this week and it really is the pits - the store itself is incredibly shabby; it looks like it hasn't had a good refurb for many years (decades even). It also has the air of the Marie Celeste - I visited the home furnishing floor and apart from stock being incredibly spartan I was outnumbered three to one by staff - all of whom were stood in a group talking. The brands in the store are not 'all that', either; there really is nothing that screams out 'buy me. The store sits in one of the best spots in town but chronic underinvestment and a lack of retail nous is apparent in bucketloads - even Debenhams across the road seems like it is buzzing by comparison. Such a shame.

Good prices and quality on some suits and formal wear. Staff very helpful and friendly. Fitting rooms could do with a clean and a tidy, maybe even a bit of a spruce. Would have expected more from a store with this reputation.

Spaced out store with plenty of sale items on 1st floor,mens clothing on lower/basement

I bought a cream tuxedo jacket and a pair of black trousers here. The store is well stocked. We also got some strong good perfume as well. I came to shop all the way from Ijebu in Yoruba country, west Africa.

House of Fraser hasn't changed much in over 20 years of going there, at least not at the Middlesbrough branch. But that doesn't mean that's a good thing. However what has changed is some of the popular brands seem to have disappeared.One thing that stuck out though, certain items were priced higher than in other stores. I was looking for socks and vests, only to find the exact same items cheaper in Sports Direct and TK Maxx.The store was far quieter than the others mentioned previously so it was an all together nicer shopping experience. I'd be happier going there purely to get my business done quicker and quieter, even if it meant paying a little more for some items.
