My husband and I went along to one of James taster session and came out loving the whole experience. James has such a calming manner about him, that teamed up with fantastic instruction meant that we managed to work the clay and throw our own pots. James is on hand to step in when needed but will give you encouragement to fix errors yourself first. Such a sense of achievement and I would definitely recommend booking a pottery in with James. Thank you. X

I went to James’ studio for a half day course to improve my throwing, and had an absolutely brilliant time! James is very knowledgeable and so skilled, he really helped me gain confidence and corrected many of the issues I was having with throwing. I hope to go back soon for another session!

My husband bought me a pottery taster session for my birthday and I absolutely loved it! James is an excellent teacher and really explains the whole process so you get the best experience. He’s clearly passionate about what he does and has a very calm manner that puts you at ease. I was thrilled that I made a pot with my 1st throw :-) I’ll definitely be booking some lessons to see what else I can create. Thanks James!

My daughter (11) and I visited James for a taster session. We had a great morning, it went very quick. My girl took to it brilliantly and it was great to see her concentration and pots! We'll be back for more!

My auntie and I have just finished our second taster throwing session with James and we've absolutely LOVED it! Both of us have caught the bug and cannot wait to get back on the wheel. James is such a calm and attentive teacher! I highly recommend - for all ages! The fired blue bowls are what I made in my first session with James, and we should be able to pick up the 2nd batch in a few weeks. James has also indented our names into the bottoms our respective creations for such a lovely personal touch!! The studio is a relaxing, clean space too. Can't wait to come back - thank you, James!

Lovely to enter the calm and CLEAN pottery studio of James, complete with little birds at the door and the most calm and friendly dog ever. James shared the practical and conceptual skills of throwing pots - that you can always try again and to enjoy what you do not get too focused on what you produce. Chats and tea, it was a lovely way to spend a few hours with my daughter (13). Highly recommend.

So much fun! My sister bought this for me for my birthday and we went together. We had an amazing time learning how to work clay using the dual wheel which meant we could both work on our creations at the same time. James was a great tutor and host and we really enjoyed the pace of the workshop and James’ expert teaching. It’s definitely sparked an interest and I love the idea of bringing my husband for date night!
