The Violin Shop

I visited the shop to get my bridge straightened (it has bent over the many many years) and they were amazing. Very friendly, clearly know what they’re doing and very good prices.

First visit today, excellent customer service and advice given. Violin plays fantastic now after a few adjustment.

The staff are very helpful and extremely polite however as a vulnerable person In isolation l was told on a previous visit to wait in the rain being told only four allowed in at anyone time the 2and time it was bitterly cold outside l was asked to wait outside again as only 4 were allowed in dispute them having a notice on the window clearly stated 6 people are allowed in. I do not usually complain because it is a difficult time but your rules for covid 19 should be made clear.

David comes so highly recommended and rightly so. I went today, just to replace my violin's strings and a polish, where it was noted that my bow was due a replacement, as it was 4 years old an used almost every day. I had about 711 questions to ask about bows, however David was very happy to patiently answer them all, and showed me a range of bows, ranging from cheap to expensive and explained what type of musician would require a particular bow. A very humbling experience where I was treated with complete respect, despite my knowledge of instruments being quite limited. I would highly reccomend David G. Mann, and I will definitely be returning to The Violin Shop. It certainly shows that David has 40 years experience in the trade.

Reasonable selection of violins on sale, with prices to suit most budgets. A good place to go for repairs or advice and an interesting window display. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Very impressed by the professional feel to this shop, it was exactly what I was looking for. I had my violin bow rehaired and sought advice on some alternate strings, buying those which were recommended at a competitive price and had them fitted for free! Completely happy with the service delivered, I felt my violin was in good hands and would greatly recommend to anyone looking for a music shop specialising in Strings.

Honest genuine guy. Diagnosed a few faults with my cello and can sort them quickly and for a very reasonable price. I had been told my cello was worthless and was considering buying another. So pleased I came here and would highly recommend.
