Wet Bristol Marine

I'm a complete novice with an old engine. Duncan at Wet Bristol Marine has fixed it twice, including sourcing old components from overseas. Great at keeping in touch and very reasonably priced. The go to guy for outboards in Bristol.

Wet Bristol can do anything you need with a simple but personal service. It can be difficult to glean who to Trust from the internet but judging from Duncan's immediate and knowledgeable reply to my service questions i knew i had found a good service company.Duncan has a strong eye for detail and will look after your outboard as if it was his own. You get more for your money than you might expect as he can solve plenty of other boat related queries you may have.And don't expect to have to wait 9-5 either, i have just ordered a tailored prop with a couple of texts. Very professional and trustworthy.Don't hesitate, you won't find better in Bristol - believe me i have done plenty of research, as you are by reading this! ;)

Thought I was going to have a problem with spares for my old Selva Capri 5hp but NO PROBLEM, Duncan knew the part required ordered it direct from Italy and it was delivered in a few days - brilliant service

I rang these guys to purchase a new outboard. Explaining I was driving over an hour to get there, we had an outline discussion regarding a potential trade-in of an older outboard and my desire to look at what I was purchasing. I was given various assurances that some sort of solution could be found.On arrival the discussed starting point for my engine was down graded by 50%. Accepting these things happen I decided to park the irritation as one of those things that happen due to phone calls. So I asked to look at the new engine we had discussed. There weren't any. They don't carry new stock so my journey and several hours were completely wasted.I was then told I could have a Yamaha but with a different brand or a Mariner, but again a different brand. Alarm bells sounded, after all it is illegal to promote goods as being made by a well known manufacturer when in fact they are being sold by another company. I had a quick look and there was no evidence on the engine being pointed to that it was made by Yamaha. Still desperate to salvage my lost hours, I was told there was an extensive warranty. I expressed interest but when going to get my credit card out was told they prefer cash sales and would put a percentage back on for a credit card. I didn't do business with this company, I would strongly urge anybody who considers doing so to get the various claims in writing before either parting with cash or spending time attempting to!

I mail ordered some parts for my Yamaha f150 outboard. Duncan was very helpful in working out which parts I actually needed. Most of the parts weren't UK stock but Duncan still managed to get them to me extremely quickly. First class, genuinely helpful, knowledgeable service.

Was thinking about getting a Minn Kota outboard,had a chat with Duncan on the phone he spent time telling me all about it.I decided to buy the Endura C2 .Duncan then sourced a battery local to me all sorted in a day.Went to Hinkling Broad for a week and put it through its paces, it pushed my West Wight Potter along like a dream ,so pleased best buy I have made in ages.
