Ye Olde Stocks

This is an excellent example that demonstrates the history of Rainford.The stocks are Grade II listed and located at the top of Mossborough Road on the corner with Church Road, opposite The Derby Arms.The entry into the Grade II listing reads:Heritage Category: Listed BuildingGrade:IIList Entry Number: 1075902Date first listed: 24-Mar-1966Date of most recent amendment: 23-Aug-1985Statutory Address: VILLAGE STOCKS AT CORNER OF MOSSBOROUGH ROAD, CHURCH ROADStocks. C18. 2 stone posts with rounded tops and grooves for boards; that to left has bench mark. The boards are C20 replacements.
