Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, A Belmond Hotel, Oxfordshire

I knew our stay was going to be fantastic but it far surpassed my expectations. Every tiny detail has been well thought through and there is absolutely no pretention at all, every member of staff was lovely and very approachable.The food was simply divine and encouraged us to try one or two things we wouldn't normally have. I would highly recommend having the wine paring, the flavour of each changed once you had it with that course.Our room, Citronelle, was delightful and with a very comfortable bed which felt like memory foam.My husband enjoys a cigar and the room has a small terrace with ashtray and there is also a heated, covered smoking area. The lounge bar also has a selection of cigars for purchase.Dress code is smart casual, I was concerned about being cold in the restaurant but it was a pleasant temperature without needing a cardy, even in December.My only negative is that eating out in future is rarely going to get close to Le Manoir. We cannot wait to return!

I can't even begin to describe how incredible this hotel is. My (now) husband and I had our wedding at Le Manoir two weeks ago, and it was such a magical experience. Their events team is so good at their job (thanks Kezia!), but on a more universal note, the service at Le Manoir is impeccable. The food is divine, the atmosphere is decadent but warm, comfortable, and the staff are so incredibly attentive. My bridal suite room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. We had a wonderful wedding and a wonderful stay, and I hope we can come to stay again soon. Thank you so much for having us!

We've just had the most wonderful day out at this beautiful restaurant and grounds (we didn't stay at the hotel) from the moment you walk into the grounds you feel like nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Everyone was friendly, relaxed and super helpful. The grounds and garden are stunning with the vegetable gardens taking centre stage. Nothing within this area is off limits. I had a garden tour with Adam who was friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my geeky questions about the growing methods and told us lots of funny stories about Mr Le Blanc! We then wandered the grounds in our own time. I loved all the unique sculptures! I'm someone who gets a little nervous going to such high end restaurants but I felt at ease from the start, the atmosphere is relaxed and quite informal. The lunch tasting menu was perfection. Pure artistry on a plate. My favourite course, the salmon show pictured. They had a little anniversary card on the table. A really special day out. Give yourself time to enjoy the terrace and grounds before/after your meal. Thank you Le Manoir for a special day, our silver wedding anniversary!

Our second visit for lunch, could it be as good as the first?Simple answer - Yes.From arrival until departure some four hours later we had the most marvellous meal. Greeted on arrival and taken through to the garden for aperitifs. Taken into lunch and had the most wonderful meal. Impossible to pick out single item for special mention as everything we ate was perfect.The breads that are offered are remarkable for their flavours and freshness. Difficult to say no but at some point you need to show some strength of character and politely decline.The selection of cheese is excellent and are in wonderful condition, well worth the supplement.II must also mention the service which is flawless. Everyone we met had a smile and seemed genuinely pleased to help - not something that is always in evidence in similar establishments.It is not a low cost meal but for the pleasure and joy created by the experience it is worth adding to your bucket list and saving up for.Happily return for a third visit and can recommend without hesitation

What a wonderful way to spend a weekend to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday along with daughter and son in law. The building itself typifies an elegant country manor surrounded by the most beautiful gardens. When we were shown most hospitably to our Junior suite, it was incredibly impressive, luxurious and so welcoming. Our 7 course tasting dinner - wow, what can we say, utterly delicious along with the wines we chose. Equally delicious was breakfast the following morning. But we have to commend all the staff at Le Manoir. They welcomed us like family and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Le Manoir. Diane & Ian.

Having wanted to visit ever since Le Manoir opened I finally celebrated a big birthday here with a truly memorable dinner. Everything was superb and I am left with wonderful memories of the evening, which gave me great joy and exceeded expectations. Thank you to all the staff who were so friendly and knowledgeable, and a big thank you to my children who organised the wonderful surprise.

Truly outstanding. Dinner was absolutely delicious. Some errors on the service. Sommelier brought the wrong wine, being told our taxi was waiting and to go now when we were residents, and a mix up at checkout, being presented with the bill from another room. The grounds are amazing, the orchard itself well worth a walk around and everything maintained to a very high standard. If I'm in Oxford again I will go back.

I will cherish our stay at Le Manoir celebrating my mother’s 70th birthday forever. From the moment we booked the visit, we were treated with special care and attention by all staff. It really is a luxurious place to visit and every detail made us feel special. The service is seamless, the food is exquisite and the rooms are magical. Highly recommend visiting with a loved one for an exceptional 5* stay. Thank you to all staff at Le Manoir and to Chef Blanc for taking the time to chat to us - we look forward to visiting again soon :)

Just a stunning experience. Food out of this world. So carefully chosen,seasonal, beautifully prepared and cooked. Wonderful wine list. The staff couldn't have been nicer, attentive but not in your face. Full of advice or useful information about the dishes or wine. The rooms were gorgeous. Very well equipped, super clean and inviting. The greeting staff were lovely as was everyone. Take a stroll through the vegetable gardens and gardens. Beautiful sculptures. A real treat, but super expensive. Well worth saving up for!

Be warned... luxury car drivers!Our stay at Le Manoir has been completely tainted following an accident in their front car park (not the one at the back). The Valet drivers parked our Ferrari and someone then drove into it…It’s difficult to say who is to blame, the Valet for parking it in a bad place or the other driver for hitting it…? This happened in October ’23 and so far the hotel have been very unhelpful to get this resolved and seem to have ‘washed their hands’ of us. They will not provide the CCTV and have now stopped replying to my emails hence the need for this public review.It’s a real shame but I would have to advise anyone to seriously reconsider before taking any kind of cherished vehicle here.
