My partner is currently a patient and I've witnessed on a number of occasions whilst on video call to her numerous requests to have a drink and to have help with bedding etc basic care, her TV has been broken for over two days this is after being moved from her previous room due to her other TV going down it just stopping working it's not been replaced or repaired . I have even rang and requested help and asked them to sort it out on her behalf I was told that it would be done straight away .she's still waiting and whist chatting to her as I write this you can hear how blatantly rude and disrespectful some staff are not what you'd expect from professional mental health services as others have said they argue with patients even goading them which I've witnessed on more than one occasion very poor service even worse they lack common sense when dealing with mentaly I'll people you don't argue with them it's not a prison fgs it's meant to be a hospital not happy will take it further needs closing down or a major overhaul

I’m only giving two stars due to the nurses and health care workers being amazing they listen to you and do help as need and when they can ect. However, the consultant/doctor who gives you the treatment, he did literally nothing within the two weeks I was there. I was misdiagnosed with EUPD just for it to change to bi-polar on discharge. No meds changed or added. I did explain that that diagnosis was wrong ect. I think it’s very irresponsible to discharge someone who was sectioned at the time leave when they feel the exact same as when they where sectioned in the first place. Two weeks later admitted to hospital again with a change in meds and a diagnosis that actually fits of depressive episode. Due to this I would personally refuse to go back onto that same ward if it has the same doctor.

Poor safeguarding of individuals and non transparency of severe injuries or procedure. My daughter will never go into this place again Very poor. Cannot go into details as their is still an ongoing police investigation. Daughter still extremely distraught about the handling of this matter.

My daughter was admitted here last Tuesday. She is awaiting a psychiatrist review/assessment. I have visited on several occasions and phoned many people regarding the care of my daughter. She is very vulnerable and was admitted to here after an intensive care admission. She went into the priory voluntarily for help. However, she has received no help. Her medication has been stopped and we are told that her psychiatric assessment could be another week. She is scared as she is alone in a room with no windows. She is too scared to come out of the room because of other patients. They are posting nasty things through her door on a daily basis.every time we call and leave messages for someone to call us back it never happens. I need some answers and help for my daughter. I am seriously considering contacting the CQC about this. I can’t see my daughter suffer like this any longer.

I could complain like everybody else but I am here to give thanks because my stay here quite probably saved my life. I would like to give extra special thanks to the following people whose help and human kindness was invaluable. Martin for being one of the nicest, loveliest and funniest people I have ever met. Dr Ajish. The amazing Jess who really understood everything that I was going through. Also Mike, Julia Joe and Emie for running after me with my keys when I left and everyone else who put the effort to do what I witnessed to be a difficult job in challenging circumstances. Thank you so much guys. I'll try not to remember the horrible dark cloud I was under but I will always remember your kindness. All the best,William.

Staff are very unprofessional, reception staff are good however the staff located on newstead ward are very uncaring and like to provoke the patients resulting in distressed reactions, the staff don’t allow patients to eat in their rooms even though they suffer from social anxiety and struggle to mix with others or strangers, some staff are okay however the hospital is very unprofessional and I would not recommend for anyone suffering with mental health to be on this ward. Staff like to disturb patients early hours in the morning to lock possessions away under a bed where they cannot get access to them and talk over patients having a general conversation and not explaining to patients why things have to be locked away. This is very uncaring and takes away patients right to privacy and dignity resulting in them becoming distressed and uneasy. This does not help aid the patients problems, the nurses have attitude problems and laugh at patients when they are feeling anxious or upset. They don’t explain medications and just expect patients to take them without questioning.
