My son Harry attended Millfield for the last 3 years of his schooling. He has had a truly fantastic experience there. The Headmaster is a dynamic, positive and inspiring leader. His house parents, and teachers are faultless and the accommodation and grounds are outstanding. We are so thankful that he has had this experience.

Our eldest son has been at Millfield for two years now (since year 9) and we hope that our youngest son will follow him to Millfield (year 9) in September. We can't praise Millfield enough. It has not only met but exceeded our expectations in all areas and believe me, we had high expectations. The school is forward thinking and truly embraces the individual and their personal development. Led by a strong and dynamic head and supported by a talented team, Millfield's response to Covid times cannot be faulted - efficient, timely, excellently communicated, excellent IT capabilities and above all a truly dedicated hard working staff. Academic excellence is encouraged and supported through Top Academic and Minerva programmes. Pastoral care both in the boarding houses and in the classroom has been attentive, insightful and positive. The opportunities at Millfield are endless and are there for the grasping!!

Millfield School
While it has a fantastic set of facilities and some largely good teachers, Millfield does its best to breed a very specific type of person - a public schoolboy/girl.I attended Millfield for 2 years, and while I loved the music facilities and time using their pool and even sailing club, the attitude of the pupils and teachers there I found toxic. Negativity and a distinct lack of support for each other was the norm amount the students, and the teachers were generally unapproachable with most non-academic matters. It is a school that creates a) a fake sense of camaraderie not based on trust but petty, artificial factionalism b) an uncompromising and inflexible rule set maladapted to a boarding school c) not uncommon access to drugs (several of my peers were smokers and got high on a semi-regular basis - they had the money) and d) isolation.Millfield creates people with a false sense of self confidence, which roots itself in the demeaning of others. The majority of people that attended (and especially those that had been there a long time) developed unpleasant narcissistic traits.

My daughter has had the best two years of her life at Millfield doing her A' Levels. Everything is first rate. The facilities, the education and the range of mind opening opportunities students can engage with. Worth every penny.

We are delighted with this School and it has exceeded our expectations. Our son started in Year 9, with the kick off programme “9 at Millfield” which allowed the pupils to get to know each other early on (day & boarding) whilst working in teams and learning new skills.Millfield offer a wealth of activities for pupils to get involved in and their sports are second to none with professional coaches to enable to pupils to achieve their best.Excellent quality of curriculum teaching with a nurturing and encouraging environment, enabling the children to become independent and make their own decisions and mistakes, which is vital for their own futures. Our son is dyslexic so we had to choose his senior school wisely. From the first point of contact from the school, attending the open day and other subsequent visits to the school we were convinced this was the right one for him, so we uprooted our family 125 miles and brought them all to Somerset. (It was the best decision for the whole family as the other children are enjoying Millfield Pre-prep and Prep School). We can honestly say that Millfield is the definitely the right choice. Our son’s learning needs are met effectively and with the wealth of activities offered, he is blossoming with the whole school experience. As an avid golfer, he is in his element being able to play golf everyday with professional coaches and having the opportunity to play on several external courses as well as using the excellent facilities at the school.Millfield offers so much to every pupil, with an extensive range of activities to choose from. Their grounds and facilities are fantastic, with a swimming pool, indoor/outdoor golf, tennis & cricket, with plenty of pitches for rugby and football and astro for hockey and excellent equestrian facilities. The vibe of the School is positive and all-inclusive, as parents we definitely feel part of the Millfield community receiving up-to-date communication via the parent portal or emails. We highly recommend this School but would encourage you to attend one of the many Open Days they offer to find out for yourself.

An outstanding school. Both my daughters attend Millfield senior and are full time boarders. We are a military family and that involves separation, operational deployments and regular moves. Millfield is the constant in our daughters' lives. The pastoral care they receive is difficult to fault. We are regularly updated on their progress, well being and successes.Class sizes are small, no child is overlooked and teaching staff know their students very well.Communication to parents is excellent and has been proven during COVID 19, where they have handled issues timely and with care and consideration to their students and families. The facilities are incredible and you'd be hard pushed to find a sport/activity that Millfield don't offer!

It’s always a joy to come back to my Alma Mater, even after forty years. Especially, when a new generation of my family is lucky enough to go to school here. The facilities are terrific as is the pastoral care and character building. How many other schools focus on kindness as a core value? Or have generous scholarship programs?Students from 70 countries study here. And the school provides extra support for these students and their parents letting them come to visit the boarding houses and meet the house parents a day before the other students. There is even a welcome BBQ for the international Millfield community. And the Millfield Year 9 programme (Year 9s are in dedicated boarding houses at the heart of the campus) is innovative and unique. What a privilege it is to study here. And to be able to visit as a family member of a pupil here.

Having had 2 children at Millfield, I can honestly say the school is unique. Fantastic opportunities within a beautiful setting, with really great pastoral care... the school really does help each student develop individually and to the best of their potential. As International parents, it has been reassuring to know they are in such good care and with each child's best interest at heart. Our children have some truly amazing memories of their school days... education as it should be - enjoyable and fulfilling!

We've had two children go through Millfield and without exception can clearly state that both children have had a wonderful experience. Our daughter went through to GCSE's and left when we re-located to Mauritius. Our son left at the same time but six years her junior. He decided to return as a boarder in Y10. So we've experienced the academic and sporting heritage of Millfield as well as day scholars and a long distance boarding experience. Pretty much seen it all. The Millfield support is beyond anything we have experienced else where and the professionalism and level of all staff if exceptional. Millfield for us as parents has been a great experience and we wholeheartedly recommend the school.

This school is very average. I was looking to join for rugby but it simply is not up to my standards. It is disgusting the fact I even looked at this school, terrible, absolutely terrible. When you improve your rugby then please reply to this email (But I will probably be 80 by then LOL) LWC for life! (Shout out Jordie Bland x)
