Boats are shaky and uncomfortable to travel on and they now no longer allow you to drink or eat onboard inside...and have an army of little soldiers in security uniforms to enforce the new unnecessary rules which you are reminded by tannoy message...will be enforced if necessary by police....shocking!!!!Already an over expensive crossing just got worse...avoid...don't cross the Solent take your hard earned money elsewhere and spend it where it's appreciated.!!!

Good well organised terminal with a new coffee shop and seating inside. Couple of good coffee places outside too. Queues can be long on weekends in summer when everyone is heading home although these days not so much of a worry as the new red jets are much larger. Always helpful staff.

While waiting to travel back from Southampton to Cowes on the 3.45 red jet on Monday 8th July, we were 'greeted' by a rude and obnoxious steward at Southampton who was telling people abruptly that they were waiting in the wrong place as that was the queue for the Hythe ferry, although the boards were saying 'queue here for Red Jet' we were all left then to guess where we needed to stand to board the Red Jet. Not a pleasant experience really although this was the first time we had experienced this, not sure which 'charm school' this man went to!!!!!

Superb service. After a holiday accident, I had to return home alone, on crutches with a dog. The staff helped pushed; found and pushed me in a wheelchair on and off, kept an eye on me and even kept checking in until my taxi came in Southamton, when they helped me again. Thank you!! The crossing was speedy too.
