Very nice and cosy pub! The food is delicious, but very small in portion. The prices look good, but you are eating like you are on a diet. The quiz although fun, it takes forever (has 40 questions).

Only went for food. So can’t comment about other things. Really enjoyed the meal. Felt service was a bit disjointed. While staff were lovely there was no direction. Got meals before cutlery and silly things like that. Told we were too late for a dessert after eating the mains and then asked by another girl if we wanted a dessert. Had a fabulous pork chop. Dessert was lovely as well. Heard they’d lost two key staff so perhaps that was why service wasn’t on par with the food. Will definitely go back. Food was so good anything else was forgiven.

Came here for a family Sunday lunch and had an amazing dining experience. The thing that really stood out was how well trained the staff were. Overall, the service was excellent. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children, and despite this, our drinks and food came out quickly and at the same time, and we felt really well looked after. The decor is lovely but the state of the toilets were surprising for a lovely pub like this. They are rather dated and could do with a refurb to match the rest of the pub. The George Inn is dog and child friendly (they even have a menu for dogs). The food was all presented really well, and the roasts came with a shared vegetable dish (mix of broccoli, red cabbage, greens and carrots), a small bowl of cauliflower cheese and a small pot of extra gravy (much appreciated!) Everyone enjoyed their food and there was enough choices on the menuto accommodate our group's various dietary requirements (Veg, GF, picky kids). Would recommend the slow roast pork belly, coconut prawn starter, and the guiness choc cake! The ice creams were also a highlight. Food was well priced, especially when opting for 3 courses. Good selection of drinks, too. We will certainly visit again. Thanks again to the George team!

Best pub in Barton by a long shot. Organised the perfect wedding reception for myself and my wife. The room was exactly what we expected for our special day. It's nowhere close to my local by distance, but holds the title anyway.

Absolutely fantastic food. My husband had the pork chop which he was raving about for some time after. I decided to have the option of three starters with chips.... all were delicious but there was far too much food for me!!! Eyes greedier than belly!! A few nights later, we went in on spec hoping for a table. The place was buzzing as it was a Friday night, but the lovely young man on the bar managed to find us a table where we indulged in the best fish and chips I've had in YEARS! All washed down with a couple of pints of Black Sheep, and the fish and chips were on 2 for 1!!! Highly recommend this pub. Great staff, fabulous food and an excellent choice of beers.

Had Christmas dinner there today, and I struggled to find the turkey in my turkey meal. On the plus side the dessert was amazing, and very generous portion. The wheelchair access needs addressing as it's very tight and uneven surface, and also hand sanitizer in the way to get through the door. The staff were very polite and helpful, but did seem to be understaffed at times.Overall it was an average outing, and I won't be returning.

No heating on when it was 5 degrees celsius, we asked the staff to turn it on which they did, only to come back to the room and it was freezing again. No water in the shower, only in the tiny washing basin. Manager kept ignoring us. Extremely old building needing serious repairs, maintenance in general. Continental breakfast is poor. The traffic in the main road does not stop and the noise comes through the walls. No sleeping possible

Had an overnight stay to meet up with some friends. On arrival staff were very friendly. Was shown to our room on arrival and was very impressed with the room considering the price we paid. Had a lite bite to eat in the afternoon and the food was delicious. Drinks also very reasonable. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection to choose from and everything was cooked to order. Will definitely be returning again.

Nice decor and friendly staff. Bed very comfy but was too hot in the room. Also had trouble with the shower as was difficult to turn on and off. Was also noisy at night with people outside chatting etc until the early hours. Avocado and poached eggs on toast was lovely. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Wish there was a choice of bacon as they only do the hard crispy rashers.
