Helping Hands

Helping Hands enabled my Dad stay at his home, in York, for approx 2 years. They were absolutely superb. It is very daunting when you have to choose a company to help look after your parents, in their own home, but right from the outset their care went above and beyond what we hoped for. They were always on time, flexible to meet Dads complicated needs and always pleasant to us and kept us well informed about his care. Dad really liked them and they really listened to what he wanted. There were a couple of members of staff who were really fab - rude to pick them out as all the staff were excellent. I would recommend Helping Hands again and again to anyone who needs to trust that their parent will receive good quality care at home. The care was personal to Dad. He has sadly passed away now, but without Helping Hands he would have had to go into a care home far earlier, which was the very last thing he wanted to do.Thank you soooooo much

Helping Hsnds is a good care company to work for. In particular the guaranteed pay contract was of great benefit to me when I first started as they could ease me in and gradually build up the hours. The pay is competitive and at the higher end of domiciliary care companies in York. The initial training is very good and quite informal. You also get plenty of shadowing shifts when you first start and the office team are very welcoming. There is also plenty of opportunity for further online or in house training.

I have been using Helping Hands for a few weeks now, twice a week (Bonny and Valerie) and I'm really pleased with both personal care and household jobs that they've been carrying out, which greatly improve my well-being and quality of life. They are efficient and respectful, yet kind and personable, always listening to what I have to say and adapting to my needs. I really feel that I have two new friends.

I was made redundant whilst on maternity leave and saw helping hands advertising, after sending an application across I was contacted and interviewed within the space of a week, they were so helpful and understanding regarding child care and availability and allowed me to work what worked for me and my family, they have always been supportive and have a lovely office team that are approachable when needed!

Iv worked for helping hands for over a year now, In this time I have seen the branch grow. The level of care helping hands provide is exceptional, our training is very informative and supportive. I have received a great deal of encouragement and support from my manager and care coordinator in training and customer care. The branch is very open, friendly and very happy to help, on the end of the phone at every need. Highly recommend as an employer as well as a care provider.

Helping Hands have looked after my father for over three years, with kindness, patience, respect and good humour. He’s in great spirits and very good health apart from memory loss. Helping Hands are an excellent team.

Helping hands York are Excellent.Helping hands York have given me and excellent service from day 1. I have very punctual and consistent carers who are friendly and easy to communicate with, The care given is totally person centered and my needs from the carers and managers always come first. The staff that manage in the office are willing to work with other carers in the care field if necessary. The staff are all one big team who work together and go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy with the service, this includes making sure the carers are looked after and happy in thier work. Helping hands York have treated me much better than any care company I have been a customer to in the past. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I have been a carer for helping hands for 6months now and really enjoy the work I do. I have always been honest and open with helping hands about my personal circumstances and they have accommodated my rota around this. I love the work I do and being able to help someone live as independently as possible in their own homes gives me a great sense of achievement. Having regular clients enables me to build a trusting relationship with the client and understand more about their lives and needs.
