Outstanding hotel and excellent value for money. If anything I would say my room was UNDERpriced. The food is wonderful, the views superb, staff are amazing and I will definitely go there again. Please book direct as booking sites take a hefty commission. This hotel is worthy of receiving the full rate.

Great location in a grade 2 listed building. Hotel rooms are great for the price & views were fantastic. Best breakfast ever!We'll be back for a fourth visit soon!

Obviously this pub is always busy. But today the first time we ate there, ordering a ‘chefs special’ for £6.This is what arrived, tiny with onions, no Stilton as sold —a huge joke.We thought it was right to have refund after one bite and it tasting naf. Just to get snarky comments from the staff.We left, it’s not about a 50% refund they offered. You’re a pub with the money to be fair and decent to people…

Stayed for 5 nights; highly recommended. Fantastic food and drink, comfy and quiet room, friendly and accommodating staff. It’s just a shame they don’t make hotels like this any more!

This lovely countryside pub is close to many outdoor attractions, not far from Sheffield City Centre. We stopped here recently for a small lunch from the sandwich and chips part of the menu; the food is what you expect from the typical non-fancy pub, and the price is reasonably well aligned. The staff are friendly; the building is a little dated but clean and tidy. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and parking spaces; however, it’s busy on weekends, so get there early or book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Lovely Hotel! We spent 8 nights during the Christmas holidays with our two children (3 and 6). The staff was very nice and made our visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The owner Mike is very plesant and always made sure that everything was ok for us and the children. Ideal position for the peak district, not far from the centre of Sheffield. A perfect base for touring Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was very good (the highlight of the day for the children) and free wifi. We would certainly go back there in the future.

Great location to stay - on the edge of Sheffield and Peak District National Park. Great walks nearby and views over the city and can be in the city in 10 -15 mins. Very friendly staff and good menu with good range of options for both breakfast and bar/restaurant menu. Nice to see it was popular with locals too.

Very cosy pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you want a base to go for some walks in the stunning countryside (some pictures attached), this is a great choice.The food has been consistently good. I had the steak and ale pie and it was amazing. It was a proper pie and not a small bit of pastry on top that you get in a lot of places.I would definitely come back again.

In the middle of a mid week walk, we called in for coffee, which was very tasty.Busy lunch time, always speaks volumes mid week In my opinion. A cosy pub, which also welcomes dogs.There is plenty of outdoor space and parking. Super views, too.
