Miss Elegance prom / Evening Dresses

Found the perfect prom dress right away!! The ladies were so helpful and encouraging and made me feel very comfortable. Lovely selection of dresses and all wonderful quality! Thank you so much for making my day :)

We had a lovely time at Miss Elegancy . The ladies were very helpful. They made my granddaughter feel very special in some beautiful dresses . It was like a mini fashion show . The lady helped her try the dresses on while we sat outside .A wonderful experience. She found her perfect dress with lots of help and advice from the lovely lady . Thank you for making my granddaughter very happy. I’ll be back next year with my other granddaughter xxx

We were really looking forward to do our mother and daughter first prom shopping and booked to go try some dresses in our local prom shop - Miss Elegance in Birstall,Batley.Before hand, my daughters were forewarned by her classmates with their experience that morning about shop assistant insisting to be in the dressing room whilst getting changed. But when her mum had said no they had listened, so she still managed to try the dresses without the invasion of privacy. I thought it was bizarre but that it might be nothing, so we still went to go as we had booked it and were excited to try this green dress that we had spotted last time. We walked in and told the lady that we have booked a fitting but had a feeling she was sizing me up, but I ignored it and asked my daughter to look at dress and pick her styles, which she did, picking 3 dresses and the shop assistant took it in the dressing room and even turn the electric heating on which I thought was nice. My daughters and I walked into the dressing room and was about to close the door and the shop assistant says she needs to be in the room and I asked why as I am here to help my 16 years old daughter. She told she needs to be there to ensure no damage to the dresses and that we don’t steal them and also so we are not taking photos. So I asked her if she has DBS and I find it really bizarre that she didn’t even know what one was, especially when working around minors in a prom shop. She called the manager and who said she (the assistant) didn’t, but she (the manager) did have a DBS and insisted to be in the dressing room, but would turn around whilst she gets dressed as she needs to ensure that dress don’t get damage and stolen.I turned around and said no way and told my daughters that we were not doing this, so we walked out.This experience has raised a lot of safeguarding concerns. There is no way a shop assistant should insist to be in same dressing room when trying clothes and bear in mind this is a prom dress shop, which means under 18 years olds are there?I really felt uncomfortable and they insisted that they have to do this as concerned about damage and dresses getting stolen… the fitting room is in the first floor and how would I walk out with a dress with no bags or pockets to even hide them in. My daughters two friends have been to the shop and tried some dresses without the shop assistant staying inside.Am I just overreacting ?And BTW, I stayed calm throughout and just curious about their rules which is wrong in every level.

A lovely experience with both ladies that were there, a brilliant selection of dresses of all styles! Ended up getting my dress here and totally recommend you go and have a look :)

My self and my daughter visited today..we could look around at our leisure and then tried on a selection. The owner Clare was lovely...she helped my daughter in and out of the dresses . We bought a dress but they were not pushy at all..we could have thought about it and gone back..no pressure. My daughter loves her dress. Thankyou

Loved our visit to Miss Elegance in Birstall, the dresses are amazing and the staff are so kind and helpful. Clare went out of her way to find the right dress for my daughter above and beyond her role. There are so many elegant and beautiful dresses all sizes for all girls and for any special occasion. Would highly recommend Miss Elegance to anybody I know.

Went today to shop for my daughter Millie’s prom dress and had such a brilliant experience. Lovely staff who were really helpful, friendly and honest with advice about the dresses and recommendations with what Clare knew Millie would like. She tried lots on and chose a gorgeous and most perfect dress, we were so pleased to buy it from here. Thank you! Highly recommend Miss Elegance.

I went in all the dresses were way too small at sizes xs and s, they were suggesting dress after dress after dress that i already said I didn’t like. Went into the changing room with me to supposedly help me get into the dresses and then sat and watched me instead and didn’t help me and just passed me the dress that was way too small and then continued to pass me dresses that didn’t fit me and I didn’t like made the experience very awkward and made me feel very disrespected it was very unprofessional and I felt very judged has ruined my whole experience of prom dress shopping and now I don’t want to go into a shop again this was the worst experience I have ever had

Amazing choice of dresses in all shades and sizes lovely expert advise form professional staff really reasonable prices the staff were so help full and friendly and let my daughter try on half the shop would definitely recommend to everyone thank you so much for making my daughter feel like a princess
