Central Co-op Food - Shaw

Great local convenience store. Yes high prices but That's typical of smaller stores, plenty of offers and deals on a daily basis though.

Hi had to leave this Review based on My experience and after seeing the poor reviews and I thought that was unfair on the good friendly staff they have working there. The shop has a great choice and the best co-op around alot better than the blue ones. The staff are super helpful and great and helpful with kids. I would just say trim the trees down as you leave the car park as the scrape along high vans . Great shop thow with great choice.

Staff are really lovely! But it's very over priced if you don't have the CO-OP card!

Passed this place so many times during construction and was led to believe that this was going to be similar to the Unicorn in Chorlton but more local to us. I thought it was going to promote plastic free packaging and was going to be a local store that benefits the community but instead, it is literally just another co-op food store, supplied by the co-op for stock, POS, uniforms, fixtures and fittings etc. I thought this was going to be where I would shop weekly in the future until my bitter disappointment of finding out that its just another overpriced co-op food store in disguise as something greater. It literally looks like they did everything they could to imply that this store was going to be nothing like the co-op but then ended up identical to one, so much so that I can't tell the difference. Its just the co-op in a slightly more eco looking way but that is just an illusion. My hunt for a local store on par with the unicorn continues.

I stood at the self-checkout, patiently awaiting the approval of my purchase, specifically an energy drink. It is worth pondering the purpose of self-checkouts when one finds oneself waiting for over ten minutes for staff intervention, and regrettably, my request was never granted approval. Hence i left the store without being served.

This place won't last long unless there are changes made. Called in early morning on my way to work but won't be doing again. 3 staff messing about near door (not security guard) didn't acknowledge me. Went to pay and couldn't have offers because I didn't have the right co op card. Didn't realise there was more than one type!. Asked the person behind the counter where I got the correct card from and he grunted 'online'. I told him I wouldn't pay the full price then and didn't move from behind the counter and just said 'ok'. I can't find the shaw specific card on line and don't think I'll be needing it anyway. What a let down.

AVOID! Huge disappointment and missed opportunity. This place will lose customers by the bucketload due to horrendous security who follow you around the store.I've never known anything like the aggressive, poorly trained and bad mannered security guard.
