We were staying at Warners Littlecote House and took this boat trip in Hungerford just 5 minute drive away. It was delightful , very friendly and helpful staff (all volunteers) we went through a lock and learned about the use of the history of the canal . Pre booking only at the moment, easy parking and additional car park 5 mins away in church street, well worth a trip, £8 each.

Visited with my wife on a Halloween evening.Fantastic food and a lovely chilled atmosphere. DJ playing easy music and a friendly experience with the staff. A must visit for a great taste of Indian cuisine from different regions.

Lovely peaceful canal trip. All run by volunteers who you can tell love what they do. Staff were all friendly and informative. Good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks etc available as well as souvenirs. Cost was £9 per person for 1 1/2 hours and we felt this was really good value for money.

Very pleasant jaunt along the canal. 3 generations enjoyed the leisurely pace. A good level of canal history and information. Good snacks - shame I was driving otherwise I would have enjoyed a tipple or two from the bar.

Lovely sunny day to view the Canal. Staff are volunteers and extremely charming. Lots of parking available in railway station. Saw beautiful red kites, herons and lots of ducks.

A tenner for a 90 minute, quiet, relaxing glide down the river through the countryside.Sounds good.Shame it did not live up to that vision. The onboard commentary was incessant and with too much irrelevant information.Apart from reeds and bushes, there was not much to see.Going through the lock was interesting. The boat is very nice, comfy and serves snacks and drinks at reasonable prices.Halve the commentary at least to save people from earache.

Absolutely Amazing ExperienceIf you are visiting Hungerford, then you must NOT miss out on a trip on board The Rose of Hungerford boat along the Kennet and Avon canal from Hungetford Wharf. We initially had issues booking online, however this was soon resolved, with great customer service. The crew are made up of volunteers, including the two Tony's (Captain Tony) and two John's for our trip.Their knowledge and wealth of experience was invaluable. We learnt ever so much and were even able to assist in working the locks. We took the afternoon trip, 2 and half hours.. it was certainly value for money, only £9 each. You can enjoy refreshments on board, including hot drinks and alcohol, there is even a clean toilet.Utterly amazing eperience and one not to be missed.Thank you all for making this so wonderful.

Brilliant non-commercial 90 minute tour with all the history and a fantastic crew. Refreshments and toilet on board. Aids to allow disabled to board. Ten out of ten lads.

Fabulous Afternoon on the canal.Great crew who spent a good amount of time chatting about the work done by the volunteers who manage the boat.Snacks and drinks, hot and cold are available at reasonable prices. It's great value for the money and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to families couples or groups.
