I just wanted to say an Enormous Thank You to Cogwheel Counsellor - who has helped me understand the ways in which I can manage my children's anxieties - both of whom have extreme anxiety conditions. Plus how best to support myself on this journey of trying to parent and guide my kids when life is so tough for them. The Compassion, Understanding and Wisdom I gained from our sessions has been life changing. THANK YOU - especially appreciated is the sliding scale of charges when in private practice one would have to pay 3 times the amount. It has really helped me as I am on a low income. I would recommend anyone struggling with emotional burdens to contact Cogwheel.

Thank you so much. This experience has been invaluable to me. Please don't hesitate to take up this opportunity. It will allow you the freedom in a non judgemental setting to express yourself openly. I would certainly recommend it.

Unlucky to get the worse counselor ever, each time we spoke she said we would address a subject the following week but we never did, then on 2 occasions she suggested I leave my loving partner of 18 years and on several occasions was very rude and snappy to me I'm on a low income and I feel like I have been cheated and one session she had audio issues and I couldn't hear her and she arranged an appointment for the following day however I could not do the following day but she still insists on charging me, I've wasted my time my money and don't feel my complaint was taken seriously.UPDATE 15/02/2021 Was offered a new counsellor who hardly spoke 2 words so I was left just talking about anything and everything it seemed I was just left to chat and chat without any real input back, complained to the manger Esther who replied Quote: We aren't able to accomodate a further change in counsellor I'm afraid,, Really? Wow just WowThis really is the worst service I have ever gotten and all I can suggest folks go somewhere where the people YOU are paying actually care....because these people do not care at all.

Amazing service. I felt supported with talking about traumatic life events. I was also taught coping strategies for moving forward.

My experience was two years ago, and I was incredibly displeased with it. It was not worth the £10 per session (which was the minimum price) and after my first ever session I tried to give my counsellor her money after which she snatched it and literally ran into the office away from me. Incredibly unprofessional and actually made my mental health worse.

I was extremely unhappy about my dealings with the Cogwheel Trust. Although, following my complaint, they refunded the fees I had been charged certain other issues remain unresolved.Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this organisation and would suggest that anyone seeking counselling looks elsewhere.

Edit: I've reached out to Cogwheel to discuss my reasons for the low rating - this was directly in relation to counselling quality (counsellor regularly forgot key details and attempted to give inaccurate and unsolicited medical advice). The admin team were excellent and thoughtful throughout.

Our GP recommended counselling for a relative who was suffering from anxiety but then explained it would not be available through the NHS for weeks/months.I contacted the Cog-Wheel Trust because we were struggling and we felt that we needed immediate help. The Cog-Wheel Trust were understanding and compassionate. We were sent a questionnaire and an appointment was quickly arranged. We had an open discussion about making a contribution per visit which was set according to our means and we felt was very fair. We had female counsellor who our relative got on well with and found to be reassuring and non-judgemental.The sessions were weekly and progress was steady as it was about giving the skills to cope in the long-term and not just a quick fix.It took a few months but our relative is now a much happier person who still suffers from anxiety but has become more confident, independent and self-assured which we know is all down to the Cog-Wheel Trust and their fantastic counsellor. Thank you so much.

Some years ago, due to a shortage of NHS resources, I had the misfortune to be recommended to contact this organisation. It was an appalling experience which I wouldn't wish on anybody! It was recently brought to my attention that they have moved from the dingy premises off Norfolk Street and that there have been some changes in personnel. I can only hope that this has brought about some much needed improvement.
