Park Life Café at The Swiss Tea Rooms
Been waiting for the replacement tea room to be rebuilt and re-open, and now it has, BUT, sadly we were disappointed. The premises lack character, and other than the outside space it offer up no reason to return. The tea was OK, but our choice of cake, Victoria sponge, was not good. What a shame as the park is beautiful.

I waited over 35 minutes for a smoothie. When I chased the order up for the second time I was told that they had called out my order. I had not left the entrance during my wait. Plus my drink was still in the blender and not in a cup ready for me. Did not like virtually being accused of lying. Very very poor customer service .

What a lovely place. Lovely food, and atmosphere. The toilets are so clean I'd consider eating my food in there!Lovely polite staff. Cant fault the place.

Visited Saturday 20th May 2023 early afternoon.Relatively new café the opening was delayed by COVID and flooding.Modern coffee shop decor, it's clean, comfortable and inviting with a wide range of hot and cold food and drinks alongside cakes, milkshakes etc.Staff were friendly and service was quick, it was busy but not absolutely packed.Seating is available inside, but during the summer it's nice to sit outside and enjoy the view over the water.The drinks and cakes we had were really nice; however, as others have mentioned it's quite expensive, I know you pay for the location/surroundings/experience etc, but it's still pricey for what you get.Having said that we'll definitely be back for a coffee during the summer.

Cafe very expensive, cake was £3.80 . The cafe was useful for the toilet and the option of a drink. It's not very family price friendly. Plus toilet door is tight and the changing tray had no belt. Clean area. Originally put 3* under gardens, but revisited August 23. Cake was dry. Originally they forgot my chai latte. The latte was disgusting and tasted cheap. The cake was dry and clearly bought in poor quality butter cream.. The prices in this place are rediculous. Extortionate prices yet poor quality food.

Lovely job done with the building but surprised that the seating area inside was smaller than expected as it was my first time since the build. The food was very overpriced compared to what you actually got. Nearly £6 for a toasted cheese sandwich. Advertised as luxury and comes with a side salad. It was a sorry sight on the plate with most of the cheese had leaked out on the plate and the salad was actually a tablespoon of coleslaw with a few bits of lettuce mixed in. It looked a little sad on the plate. The desserts were nice and not too expensive. We tried it but not for us. For the same price as what we spent there we could have gone to the Lion Hotel and had quality gourmet food.

Staff very polite and friendly. A few good vegan options. I had an iced latte which was really nice and the vegan sausage roll with some chips all very tasty. Lovely surroundings next to the river. The cafe is very clean.

Park Life Café at The Swiss Tea Rooms
Cafe set in great location by the river and with large play area behind. We had breakfasts which where excellent and all the staff where welcoming and efficient. Well worth a visit.
