I love fedora hats! so my wife planned a little surprise for me, she had been exchanging emails with Lock & Co to try and set up an appointment. She got no response, so we decided to walk into the store!I dont think I have ever walked into a store that made me feel less welcome, the sales advisor was of no help, we were out within a minute.

Sadly, they weren't open. But I would definitely purchase a hat here. In business since 1676!

Growing up, I had always wanted a Bowler hat. After years of thinking of this in my adult life, I decided to really research where to get one. One choice, above all others, made sense. Lock & Co. Hatters are not only the oldest hat shop in the world, but they are also the ones who originally made the Bowler. As someone who doesn't live in the UK, I called the shop to see the process in buying one of these hats. Turns out you need to get fitted for harder hats such as that, so I booked a flight to London. In a world of online shopping, I will say that it was well worth the trip to London for the experience of the hat shop. I was quickly greeted by very friendly staff and walls of beautiful hats of every kind. The Master Hatter, Jayesh, took my measurements and fitted me to a bowler hat with absolute precision. He ran me through the options of the hat, having a softer or more firm bowler, rim curled or flattened etc. He was extremely patient in the process, and was more than happy to be of service. It became abundantly clear that he was very passionate about the art of hats, fashion, tailoring, and being a true gentleman. I can't speak enough kind words about the shop and Jayesh for making my dream a reality, but I will say that anytime I'm in London I will be visiting the shop for more great conversation and likely more shopping of beautifully made hats. In fact I bought a beautiful cashmere flat cap as well at the shop, and a days after my purchases I will say I haven't had much time since without one of the 2 hats on my head. This shop is worth a trip to the UK and London, and worth the great things you can learn from a gentleman such as Jayesh. Highly recommend not too miss this experience.

Lock & Co. is nothing short of amazing all around. The service here goes beyond five stars. Brendan, our professional hatter, made us feel like family. His craft knowledge was very impressive, and his personal approach is world class. Any store can sell hats, and some can even make them but Lock & Co. is in a class of their own, hands down. If you’re in London, stop by and join the famous ranks of many as you acquire a quality handmade piece of history from the oldest store in the UK.

Fantastic hat shop with a long history and a beautifully crafted collection. Staff and store manager were all very welcoming and helpful, making the visit a great experience. Chapeau!

We were treated like guests of honor when we visited this wonderful store. Each staff member was extremely accommodating and it was a true pleasure to pay this shop a visit. The hats were exquisite and I loved that there was a wall of photos that featured the hat artists. Bravo and well done!

The oldest shop in the world. They were kind and gentle. That was one of the best shopping experience I’ve ever had.

Michela is the best who helps pick two beautiful lady's hats that suit me very well. All staff in the shop are very nice and welcoming. I have the hats shipped to Canada. The UK VAT will be deducted (about 17-18%) in the shop. However, be aware of that you will have to pay the Canadian duty and tax that would come up with the same amount. One great benefits of buying in the shop is not only the service but also the hats will be carefully packed and delivered in the iconic hat box. According to the shop, if you order their hats online, the hat box won't be included. I will definitely visit the shop again when I am in London next time.

I own a few hats from Lock & Co now. I love all of them, so much so I bought my mother one from their Ladies department. There was a bit of a delay due to sourcing of materials. Michela made the moment of collection only the more special by her care to detail and service. Can’t wait to give it to my Mum now!

The best of the best when it comes to hat restoration.Lost for words with the quality of work done on my 100yr old+ Felt Fedora. I visited my Uncle this summer and he gifted me a hat which belonged to his grandad (my great-granddad). Needless to say it needed some love and Lock & Co did just that in only 2 days!Wish I had taken a before picture so people could see the restoration!I called and visited a couple hatters around London and the ones that did do Hat restorations would only provide the service for Hats bought at their store. Lock & Co was a godsend.Couldn’t recommend you guys enough, Thank you very much for the work done.
