Staff are very friendly and welcoming and very happy to help when they can. We asked for an early check-in - no problem. We left our car in their car park until lunchtime, well after we had checked out and we even asked cheekily if we could use a room to change out of our best clothes (we'd just attended our son's graduation ceremony) before we drove home and again they were happy to help. Great service!Breakfast was good - a selection of continental and/or cooked breakfast. Hours are a little restrictive, so check first if you need to be out and about early. Our double room was spacious and clean with a balcony overlooking the garden and you have access to that garden and the lounge downstairs. Now the not so good bits:Our bed was terribly uncomfortable. It felt like it only had four springs and you could feel each of them - and the base below! I did not sleep well at all. At £105 for the night I expected better. The single room that our son had was barely large enough to hold the bed and at £70 for the night it seemed overpriced, especially as it didn't have a bathroom.

Rooms outdated, didn't get the room we requested twice, carpark lights shine into the room at night, noisy guests, banging doors, owners or visitors loud in carpark slaming car doors, road is always busy so windows open isn't an option...the only postive is the beds are comfy

My partner and I stayed for a night while we were doing a trip around the UK and I have to say, this is by far the worst place we stayed at. We arrived and checked in for enough time to put our stuff down and get a look at the room before we had to head out, but our room wasn't what we expected. The sink was directly in the main room and the bathroom was tiny. The two chairs they had in the room felt like they'd break from the slightest bit of pressure, and the windows were locked, so we had no airflow into the room. We had an activity booked for the evening so I washed my hands and we headed out. When we came back, we found that the sink was clogged, the water from earlier still sitting in it but due to the time of night no one was available to assist. The bed was hard as anything any neither my partner or were able to get much sleep due to the combination of this and the lack of airflow. Come the morning, we thought we'd get an early start as we were already awake but decided to at least get the breakfast that was included with our room. When we checked in, we were asked to select our breakfast for the next morning and I selected the pancakes that were meant to come with sausages or bacon, which I didn't receive. And then the pancakes themselves were very clearly packaged, barely heated and topped with tinned fruit. For the price we paid for this, I cannot recommend it less. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere.

I had a lovely room overlooking the garden. The service was first class and the breakfast was delicious. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. A real bonus to have parking as it is close enough to walk to the City centre. Highly recommend.

I really like the hotel. I went there because i have osce exam and I totally appreciated. Lovely staff. I feel like I am at home.In the area, you can find supermarkets, charity shops and restaurants. There is bus station to the center which is number 8 and 9.There is car park as well which is free

This is a lovely place to stay. All the staff (arrival & morning/breakfast) were so lovey and helpful. Our room was clean, large, en-suite, comfy beds. It was easy to find, perfect place as a base to go to Oxford, 10 mins on the bus. We will definitely be coming back here to stay again. ;o) xx

If you want an expensive B and B and no sleep then this is the place to go!1st problem, I requested a double standard room with a garden view because i hate traffic noise....I didn't get this I got a family room with a view of the road....spoke to front desk and they sorted this out with a standard room with a view of the carpark! At this point I couldn't be bothered to complain again! So doors have been none stop banging, maybe this is somthing they can look into and possible get quieter closing doors! Also the if ur by the main road from the carpark you can here people closing there car doors and the traffic is none stop! The room isn't a 4 star, is old and very outdated with wooden furniture, a tiny TV, and with such a busy road invest in some double glazing! And fix the bathroom sink the crack in it looks unsightly, there's a crack in the glass on the window...and the shower shelf in the shower cubicle either needs respraying or binning, rust dosnt look good when ur paying over £100 a night, maybe re think the pre orders for breakfast purely because most people don't know what they want until they have woken up! Also in the afternoon walking through the house to smell old chip pan oils isn't nice, however some little postives the front desk chap was lovely and helpful, the bed was propa comfy, and tea tray was good but please more sugars and coffees.

We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Birmingham. The room (2) was on the road side but we luckily did not hear too much traffic. It was however an extremely uncomfortable night. It was a 30 degree day and we came back to a fairly dated room which was like a sauna. The front window was slightly open but we could not open it further. There was a single fan in the room. The fan cord could not extend very far therefore we could not feel it from our beds. The fan was old and had little to no power. It was a sleepless night. The bathroom sink tap only had burning hot water. The room tv was taped to the base of the stand so we didn't try to turn it on. In the morning there were no staff in sight. When we went to get breakfast, we were told to wait 20 mins. This was inconvenient as we had a tight schedule but decided to wait. The food was not worth the wait. It tasted dry, was cold and the bacon was mixed in when cooking a vegetarian meal. The kitchen staff member was apologising as there was no other staff member to help her reheat food. Overall we would not stay here again and would not recommend waiting for breakfast.
