Sunken Studio

I attended Pot luck class with my husband which was amazing. Fernanda made us feel very comfortable. We truly enjoyed the class which is so therapeutic and its lovely to do a little toothbrush stand yourself. Will definitely be back to Sunken Studio to try either the same class or another one.

Attended pot throwing taster session with my wife. Well paced, clear instructions, host very friendly, patient and encouraging. Able to get a sufficient grasp of the basics to come away with a reasonable looking pot at the end. Great as a fun one-off experience or to try before taking things further.

Went to a throwing taster course at Sunken Studios. During the course, you get to make several cylinder pots while being helped by an instructor. You then get to keep one which gets fired in the kiln. Found it a really enjoyed experience and great opportunity to try throwing.FYI about parking, there's limited on street parking outside so you might want to park elsewhere and walk over.

Really enjoyed the session at Sunken Studio! Lovely workshop leader and fun activity for our work evening out. Nice chance to learn something new in a great space as well. Thanks! Only knocked a star as I felt 1.5 hours was actually a little rushed for making the bowl we were making, I'd have liked a little more time to finish :)

I would 100% recommend trying out a pottery class. You will definitely make something unique and maybe even something you love. I’ve always enjoyed making things but the busier life has become the more I benefit from creative things - you can’t think about anything else while throwing a pot so it forces you to mentally put down all those things whizzing around in your head. The beginners 12 week course was great to try out lots of techniques and I managed to get tickets to Leeds Year of Culture 2023 opening with a picture of one of my bowls - bonus. The improvers 12 week course allows you to start to make more decisions about things you would like to make and to control the process a bit more. Give it a go!

Having always wanted to try my hand on a potters wheel, I found the taster session the ideal experience. The tutor was experienced and even catered for the fact I was left - handed.The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone who attended relished the chance to indulge in this fabulous day. Everything was explained superbly and I will deffinetely look into taking another more indepth session. Thank you Sunken Studio for helping me knock a tick from my bucket list.

I visited Sunken Studio with my Mum for a birthday day out. We had the best time. Lots of laughter and we learned something new. Great tutor and facilities. We can't wait to visit again and have another go at pottery throwing!
