We received 3 quotes regarding having a hedge removed to be replaced with a wooden feather edge fence with concrete posts and kick boards. The quote received from Affordable Fencing was the most realistic. On the 8th of April- Jim and James arrived on time, and did on first inspection a fair job. We was however disappointed that they only cut down the hedge a foot from the ground in some places, and they did not actually remove the roots, we thought that was part of the job description?... they also had to be asked to use a discarded “cut off panel”( destined to be dumped ) to close up a gap at the end where the neighbours hedge and our now new fence met to not only close off a gap but also neaten up the finish. After they had gone my brother discovered the front gate wasn’t working as smoothly, we assume putting in the concrete post somehow dislodged the gate post... it now catches on the step when it never did before...the men was here around 6 hours and had a man in a van collect the hedge the next day. We paid cash for the work done and was promised by James we would get a receipt in the post, we are still waiting on that receipt.
