Elvaston county park was big, it good for bringing your kids and dogs here. The park is free but as for the car park is for paid but it for free for disable badge only. There is a cafe next to castle. Unfortunately you can't go inside the castle. I have seen the light shines through the gate like a heaven.

Lovely circular walk with the dog.Small enclosed children's play area and a large field perfect for a family picnic.Court yard with coffee shop and public toilets half way round.

This is a great place for couples or families. The grounds are huge so there's some great walks, and ample opportunities for a picnic.Plenty of dog walkers too due to the size and the scenery.Parking seemed easy as the car park was large. There's even an area designated for horse boxes!Whilst there's a few places to grab a bite to eat, apparent lack of staff does mean unfortunately there may be a large queue or a bit of a wait. From what I can see, the castle itself is either under utilised, or is in need of some serious investment to get it fit to open to the public (it was hard to tell as shutters and curtains were closed). It's a very popular park to visit, and definitely worth a try.

Decided to pop here again today as its one of our fav walks, it's always very beautiful even if it wasn't raining like it was the beginning of the end of the world lolBut seriously lovely location we often come here for decent walks with our family and dogs, food and drink here is also a great bonusThere are plenty of places to walk and take in the sights.Always a great favourite will be back often

Definitely worth the visit for a walk around the grounds, very scenic on a nice day and the area is kept presentable and tidy. Toilets are in the car park, and there is also a shop and cafe in the grounds.Stream running throughout the woods and lake with ducks, great place to walk the dogs.We stop here quite regularly for a break when travelling.

Walk through the grounds was great. The cafe was total let down this time . The food was not great at all and over priced.

Elvaston Castle is a pretty country park with lots of reasonably well signposted walks. The paths can get very muddy after a lot of rain. The kids' playground is very basic , it could be better, the shops and cafés are OK, don't expect a lot. The Castle...(I'm not sure if it is technically a castle )itself is pleasing to look at, but I get the feeling that the guardians of the building lack a real strategy for it(that is my own opinion).

Love this place we have our monthly pug walk here and celebrated the passing of our little members that passed over to rainbow bridge. We had a party at the court yard.
