First Point Photography

I recently did a three day photography studio course with First Point Photography and learned some useful new skills. Training, guidance and feedback from both Paul and Alice were very good. Great studio set up!

Attended a 2 week Advance Portrait and Wedding photography course. Lots of different styles of photography were taught using real models. The instructor was easy to talk to and allowed free access to the studio after class to practice in, they were also very knowledgable and passed on tricks of the trade" that they learnt over the years. The First Point Photography is a well-equipped photo studio with a professional staff. I had a photoshoot with Paul, who ensured I felt comfortable in front of the camera, shared some modeling tips, and put me at ease during the shoot. I received high-quality and well-executed images. I highly recommend the studio for photography students and models.

Excellent Photography TrainingI attended a Level 3 City & Guilds Award with First Point in November 2020. I arrived a novice and left confident in my abilities within the art of photography. Now months later, emerging out of our COVID lockdown, the foundations given to me by First Point Photography have put me on the start of my new career. There is always something to learn and this was a highly enjoyable learning experience delivered by Paul, Alice and the team.

I would like to take the time to add a review on first point photography, this studio is great, well put together and very professional for all your portraiture needs. The staff are very nice and happy to help whatever your needs. The wedding photography is second to none and they even now include an additional photo booth service if and when required.I attended one of there courses and in particular the 15 day wedding and portraiture course, it was absolutely fantastic, really insightful and helped me prepare for a potential career In professional photography.In summary: great staff, great photography, quality instruction and fantastic facilities, one to book with highly recommended.

I have just done the two week advanced Wedding and Portrait course and II definately recommend it. If you want a practical hands on course that teaches you what you need to know to get up and running as a small business, without more academic stuff than necessary then this is for you. At the end of the course you will get a City and Guilds assured crest to go on your social media, which helps you stand out from the crowd. Lovely people, nice relaxed atmosphere. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I attended the 'Bump, Newborn and Toddler' 3 day course this week.The course was beyond my expectations. Paul was able to break down complex concepts and explain them in a way that made perfect sense. Leading by example and sharing his knowledge as a highly experienced photographer. A great balance of theory and hands on with real models attending the shoots! Great introduction to Photoshop in which Paul broke everything down in simple terms.The handbook given out at the beginning of the course was well written and I'll be using it as my point of reference whilst setting up myself. Great business advice and help to research equipment to suit your budget.The course doesn't end on day 3, as Paul is always at the end of the phone to help out, and I wouldn't hesitate to call.Thank you for a wonderful 3 days. You've ignited a spark and I can't wait to see where this takes me.

Fantasic introduction into the world of photography. The course was well stuctured providing an array of different photo shoots which has allowed me to create a good start on creating a portfolio for my future business venture. Thank you Paul for all your guidance!

I did a 3 week course in Advanced Wedding and Portrait Photography + Digital Manipulation with First Point Photography earlier this year. It’s fair to say when I walked through the door I was a novice but by the end of my 3 weeks I had learnt so much I felt confident enough to throw myself into my own photography business. I’ve just booked my 20th wedding and I wouldn’t have been able to do so without all the progress I made whilst at First Point Photography.Paul, Danny, Sarah and the models were all professional, friendly and patient (seriously patient!) and made learning enjoyable.
