The Gym Group Southampton Portswood

I've been training with Issac Cheung at the gym group on Portswood Road for the past few months, and I couldn't be happier with my progress. Issac is an amazing trainer who knows just how to push me to my limits without pushing me over the edge. He's always encouraging, supportive, and genuinely interested in helping me achieve my fitness goals.What I appreciate most about Issac is his dedication to his craft. He's always researching the latest techniques and approaches to fitness, and he's constantly looking for ways to improve his training methods. He's also a great listener and takes the time to understand my needs and preferences, so that he can tailor my workouts to my specific goals.Overall, I would highly recommend Issac to anyone looking for a skilled and passionate trainer. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and commitment to his clients make him a true asset to the gym group on Portswood Road.

Excellent facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Debra the manager helped with a full walk around showing the equipment, as well as informing me about other options such as classes. Whilst going to the gym is an individual activity, I am pleased to know that all the staff make me feel like it is a team effort.

Been attending this gym for almost a year now and I highly recommend it. The staff are all warm and lovely and helpful. And the facilities are comfortable and top notch. Overall a great atmosphere, whether working out alone or in classes.

The machines are nice, however there are many negative things. When the app shows gym capacity 40% the gym is already full, barely could find any machine. The men changing room smells horrible, like some kind of rotten cabbage or fungus.

Very good place to work out, especially as a new gym person. The entry is a bit of a pain at first, but is very secure. The phone app is helpful, and can track things like your time at the gym, or how many people are at the gym (so you know when its quiet). The machines seem decent to me (I have no comparison) and have different workout options or manual. The bathroom is clean every time, however there's no hairdryer, if you plan on showering there. The thing that annoys me is that there could be more weight machines, as a lot of the time they are taken up by someone else (though sometimes it feels like they're just sat there). Theres plenty of options of free weights, boxing and ropes too, if that's your thing. The lockers are okay, kinda annoying if you dont have a lock, or yours doesnt fit, however they have a vending machine, and you can buy one for £5. The machines and gym are cleaned by staff, very decently I must say. I've recommend this gym to my friends, and now to everyone.

I am really happy because after long time we finally have clean gym around Portswood area. The gym is clean and new. Staff are friendly and helpful, But they have two big problem. First of all if you plan to go in the afternoon it’s always busy and hard to do the workout in this space. It’s better in the morning but I am sure when university start we will have more people! Second is the gym machines and classes. They don’t have all the machines and the machines already have is not enough. Classes always booked in two second and is not available.

I must say that the equipment was top-notch and well-maintained. The gym had everything you could need for a good workout, from cardio machines to weights. There was also plenty of variety, so you could switch up your routine and work on different muscle groups.The biggest problem with this gym was the lack of space. The maximum capacity was clearly set too high, and at peak times it was nearly impossible to find an open machine or free weights. It was also a bit uncomfortable to have so many people crammed into such a small space.That being said, the gym's pricing is very reasonable and accessible for most people. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the gym was always clean and tidy.Overall, if you're looking for a gym with great equipment and a good price point, this gym could be a good fit for you. Just be prepared for some crowding during peak hours, and perhaps try to schedule your workouts during off-peak times to avoid the crowds.Been training with Issac recently, and seeing massive improvements in my form and eating great results.

I joined @TheGymGroup Southampton, Portswood on 3rd July and due to my health issue I cancelled my membership after going for just one day and asked for refund as per their 14 days cooling off Period. I requested refund for £13.99 and there hasn't been any response. Worst customer service. Don't join these soulless people.

I contacted the gym group to join & a question asked is are you disabled I answer yes & get a reply we will get back to you. That's the last I ever heard from them. I think they are a useless group who don't want to know you if your not fully fit. I've had no response from them, not even to ask what I suffer from or problems it may cause if I was to be unwell. So I am going to try elsewhere. Their rating from me is 0 out of 10.
