The Eight Restaurant
Rare high quality Cantonese cuisine in the UK. One of the best Hong Kong styled French toasts I've ever had. Adding salty egg filling to it is such a genius idea. The bbq pork and duck are also really on point, tender, juicy and fragrant. High quality, decent portion, reasonable (London) prices.

This is by far the best Asian restaurant in London!! As an Chinese person, I can be pretty picky with Chinese food but this exceeded all my expectations. The plates were presented very nicely, our server Ric brought great energy, and the food tasted amazing and authentic. The restaurant owners also greeted us and made the environment feel very welcoming.

I've been here a couple times now - as a Hong Konger myself I can say the food is pretty good! Only thing is the volcano egg dishes tend to be too rich & greasy for me, so I stick to meat & rice. Definitely on the pricier side, but good quality & generous serving size. Lots of options to choose from and the staff are super attentive. When it's peak hours the staff will get you seated ASAP - sometimes you may end up sharing a table, which makes for an authentic experience! :)

Been here a few times - absolutely love it! Authentic Cantonese food with very efficient service! Don’t be put off by the queue, the turnover is usually really quick! Had the wonton noodles with shrimp roe before which was excellent! Had the stir fried beef hofun today which was excellent! The beef brisket curry was also super delicious! The Hong Kong style milk tea/coffee are all very authentic!

Very authentic and delicious Cantonese food! It’s what you will get in Hong Kong. I have been here a couple times and order a range of food so far none of them fail me.Recommend the roasted pork, duck and crispy belly as well! Salted egg toast is surprisingly good! And the staff are friendly and efficient!Overall it’s a very promising restaurant and good value of money.

Food here is gooood. It was quite a unique experience as I have never had Hong Kongese food in London, but I have heard so much about it. I was really excited to try this place and it did not disappoint. My understanding is that there are usually queues and waiting times for this place but we were lucky enough to not have to wait. I was very impressed by the King Prawn in XO Sauce Lo Mein and the French Toasts - I cannot wait to try all the other foods! Service here is good, but a bit rushed - I think, because they are quite busy. I liked Ric and his suggestions though! I'd definitely come back!

Really out of this world- like a breath of fresh air in the stale London Chinatown of days gone by. Thank goodness there’s a new and dynamic hot spot teeming with punters who’ve traveled far and waited long for authentic gong Kong style fare without breaking the bank. The bins are amazing and the volcano eggs a marvel of taste and texture - it’s a huge space so don’t be put off by the queue. The staff is very professional and up to the task - roast duck was sublime

Most of the seating in this restaurant is located on the ground floor, but the air is fresh and the cold air-conditioning is switched on when it's hot. Each main meal is priced at around 11£. We ordered the roast pork rice and the Hainanese chicken rice, which was delicious. But the chicken was so small that there was a lot of rice left over after the chicken and it felt like a small portion. I was also a little confused when I asked the waiter to reduce the 10% voluntary service charge as I didn't have enough cash with me, but he refused. Also, this restaurant has a minimum spend of 15£ per person and there is no discount for paying cash.

Phenomenal Hong Kong-style cuisine in London. Dishes are authentic (coming from a HongKonger) with some innovative twists such as the salted egg yolks on toast.Every single dish we tried was amazing, especially the charsiu and roast duck which were both succulent and flavourful. The restaurant is very fast-paced which may be poorly regarded locally, but feels authentic to HK restaurant culture. The quick speed at which dishes were served was appreciated.

One of the few good Cantonese BBQ restaurants in London. I feel it is better than similar restaurants like Four Seasons, Cafe TPT or Chinatown 97 in the same area. The roast pork was crispy and not too salty, the BBQ pork was tender and moist. The beef ho fun wasn't oily and had plenty of 'wok he', but the beef itself was dried and over-cooked. Usually has a queue but is fairly quick and efficient. Definitely the first place to check from now on.
