This pub was once owned by Paul Heaton and that's why I wanted to go there when I'd ever visited Manchester. Finally made it there last week and it's a really great pub, so great we went back a few nights :). The service was perfect, I was even shown the upstairs room that is used for theatre and shows: so cool ! Only negative is that I was so impressed that i forgot to take a photo upstairs...I you're visiting Manchester, don't forget to go for a drink here, you won't regret it !!

Some interesting beers on tap, all served by friendly staff. There are a couple of rooms, so you can find a quieter area for a chat if needed. The modest beer garden is also available for your enjoyment in the unlikely event that Manchester experiences some decent weather.

Great pub with a brilliant beer selection, live music and a friendly pub cat! Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Manchester.

Good small cozy theater for local theater projects! Went for a play here and would like to go back for more. However bar staff could be better with customer service. Felt like they didn't care about the orders and they were too busy talking to their friends. Bathrooms are horrible.

An excellent pub, which we've only come here for drinks. Been a few times, and it's always such a great bohemian" and friendly atmosphere. Happily can waste a night here playing some of the supplied board games or friendly chatting. Good range of beers/cider and the staff always friendly and helpful."

Nice pint of Guinness for a fiver, a belting duke box and five star staff. Hidden gem on the Salford and Manchester border

A very historic pub, beautiful both on the outside and inside. Friendly atmosphere with an excellent choice of quality ales. Regularly has theatre, comedy, gigs and other entertainment in the upstairs room. A meeting place of numerous local groups including the world's oldest angling club. Overall a brilliant pub.

Went to see a show in the little theatre upstairs. Pre show drink downstairs had me discover a great little traditional boozer full of friendly characters. I'd like to return here. It looks good if you're into your real, but you'll be equally satisfied if, like me, you're a fan of Fosters.

Great traditional pub with a good range of drinks. Friendly staff & a warm atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit for a couple beers. I've not been in while the live music has been on but can imagine this would be a brilliant venue. I will be calling in again very soon.

Came across this pub when trying to find somewhere to enjoy a bit of craic on a Sat night. Was close to the hotel so figured we'd give it a go. It was busy and there was a comedy night upstairs. Everyone was very friendly and the prices were great. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because I had to go online and create an account to buy tickets to go into the comedy show even tho I was there - they had no way of taking money from us directly; and the ladies wcs were very compact and doors insecure. But we had a fab evening !!
