Midlec Ltd - Electric Vehicle Charging Point Installers In Derbyshire

We have used Midlec twice recently and have been extremely pleased with the service both times. Having recently moved to the area we were nervous about finding new tradesmen but we are so pleased that we chose Midlec.Paul was always punctual, tidy and really friendly, even giving us tips for local restaurants and places to visit. No job was too small and the work was done to a high standard at a very reasonable price.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Midlec.

Paul installed an EV charger for us. Explained everything he was going to do first and helped me set up the charger and app and then test it on the car. Thoroughly nice chap. Highly recommended.

Paul installed an EV Charger having been recommended to me by a neighbour. He and his colleague were very professional from their first visit to the day of install. Given the location of our consumer unit it could have been a tricky installation but they managed to get the cable to the outside wall without any fuss. Would recommend.

A pleasant change from others - quick to give a fair quote and true to his word, Paul got the parts we needed and did an excellent and thorough job, despite running into various difficulties on the day. What a change to find a company who go the 'extra mile'.We had Paul quote for doing the electrics as we were upgrading our kitchen.From quote to completion he was kind, considerate and offered better solutions. He put the electrics for the fridge freezer in the housing cupboard above the fridge making it accessible.He was always on time, polite and a clean and tidy worker.We were so pleased with his work that we asked if he could do the electrical work when our daughter and family moved home. Another job well done for a fair and reasonable amount.We found him totally trustworthy and have no hesitation in recommending Midlec. It makes life so much easier to find tradespeople who are good at what they do and helpful.

Must have got them on a bad day. Hired to connect electric radiator & install lighting in bathroom. We gave him a pendant light, but some of it was missing apparently, so he couldn't fit it. He left us with a hole in the ceiling that was too small to take the ceiling box ,so it was not left in a state ready to fit an alternative light.Without our consent, he took up floor boards to route wiring and seriously damaged the floor. I had asked for it to be routed along the wall since the floor was too shallow & too close to water pipes for installation to meet EIC recommendations. He said he hadn't done this,since he didn't have any cable housing with him. He wasn't in his normal van.When putting back flooring, he screwed through a water pipe. I only discovered this because I was concerned about the insallation and asked him to unscrew the boards to show me how the wires were routed. There was a flood & he had to call an emergency plumber.Mistakes happen, but my main concern was the very bad & abusive way the matter was handled by Paul Limb,his boss. He had to come out & re fit the wiring, since a screw had also been driven through a wire. He still wanted to fit in the floor & I had to make him route it along the wall in housing which we subsequently chased into the wall. He was not prepared to compensate me for the damaged floor and gave me no discount for all the trouble they had caused. Much later, when we realised the light couldn't be fitted, he didn't offer to come out and fit the ceiling box properly.

Midlec have given us excellent service at our 18th century cottage over the last 3 or 4 years and their charges are reasonable. They are reliable and trustworthy and turn up as arranged. We are regular customers and are delighted to have found such good electricians. Would highly recommend.
