Visited Hatfield Place for the first time last week for the Helen Rollason Quiz Night event.Thought it was a wonderful venue. A large, bright main hall with attractive tree line decoration on the walls. The hall is clean and obviously well-maintained as it looks brand new. A good selection of beers and other drinks at the large bar. Gents restroom nice and clean too.Plenty of free parking, venue easy to find and the hosts were lovely too!

The owners have very kindly allowed the local school children to use their venue as a temporary school while their school roof is fixedStunning building and grounds, I can imagine how beautiful it looks when the school equipment isn't cluttering the place up

We shortlisted this place as a potential wedding venue, however trying to get in contact with them is an absolute nightmare. Seems like no one wants to pick up the phone, reply to emails or send us a brochure that was requested over a week ago.If this is how they are before the wedding is booked in, I dread to think how frustrating it must be when actually planning alongside them.Even up until making this review, I have still not received the brochure. Not via post, email (checked junk) and not even a callback (which was promised).

If you are thinking of choosing this venue, DO IT!!!This venue has been built for weddings, and has thought of single tiny detail to make your wedding go as smooth as possible.We had the best day of our lives, and the venue was just UNREAL. All our guests were blown away and so were we.From the small details like high level hangers for big wedding dresses, to 5 makeup stands perfect for the bridal party getting ready, the most comfortable beds in history, room for the grooms party to get ready in, teas and coffees in the changing rooms, fully stocked bar with staff, huge room for the evening reception, and stunning grounds that are perfectly looked after.Literally everything you could possibly want, has been thought about and incorporated.Michelle and Daisy were a huge part in our day to make everything run perfectly, and the owner was so friendly and kind and made sure he came to congratulate us and ensure everything was perfect. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and time they spent on our day.I cannot recommend this venue, staff and all around experience enough.Chloe & Danny Evans x

It was a lovely venue, and we had a great day. However, the lack of communication from Michelle was appalling. We was constantly chasing for answers leading up to the wedding as well as having to chase questions for our vendors as Michelle wasn't responding to them either. She didn’t turn up until midday on our wedding day, we saw her just before the ceremony and just after and she wasn't seen again, she didn't check in on us at all throughout the day and wasn't present the next day, we said good by to the cleaners and our lovely breakfast team, packed up and left.We had a meeting before the wedding with Michelle and were promised all our request would be done the day of the wedding however they wasn't, we had guests from the wedding party told they couldn't check in early even though it had been agreed. We had to ask where our welcome sign was after guests arrived and the Bride had to contact the owners multiple times the morning of the wedding as we couldn't get hold of Michelle to let vendors in to the venue along with a number of other queries.The only stressful thing about the wedding was the lack of communication from the venue. Thankfully our amazing vendors created an unforgettable day, however I wouldn't recommend this venue to anyone due to the unnecessary stress caused by lack of communication.The venue itself is beautiful and we can’t fault the grounds or the perfectly laid out function room. The bar staff are all amazing and super helpful they are what take this review from a 1 star to a 2, if I was reviewing them they would receive 5 stars! If the place had somebody with organisational and people skills, it would be an incredible venue with huge potential.

Possibly the finest venue in Essex and beyond.I had the pleasure of attending The Glitter Ball last Friday in aid of the new Cambridge Childrens Hospital.The venue looked stunning and food and service was first class. When catering on a large scale, not all establishments get it right. From the starter to the cheese board, the food was spot on. All that aside, no mater how good the food is, if the service is not right everything is let down. The event staff were VERY attentive and kept everything flowing smoothly and silently.Thank you for a great evening and we'll done to all concerned...

We had a fantastic wedding day at Hatfield Place however unfortunately I am unable to give the venue 5 stars, which is such a shame! Our main issue with the venue is that we found the communication terrible. Luckily, in the year before the wedding, we did not need to get in touch with the venue too much, but basic requests would take weeks to be actioned. As an example, we had to email multiple times over the course of 6 weeks, requesting a receipt confirming we had paid some of our venue hire balance off. This is something so basic which should not need to be chased for weeks. It was incredibly frustrating. Other emails would be ignored and only acknowledged once we had sent a more formal complaint. We had our final meeting 6 weeks or so before the wedding, and was told we would receive our notes from this meeting in 2 weeks max. Again we had to chase multiple times and did not receive the final paperwork, itinerary for the day and final balance owed, until less than a week before the big day. I completely understand that the venue is very busy during peak wedding season, but to completely ignore emails or phone calls is very unprofessional. All we wanted was an acknowledgement that they had seen our queries and would come back to us as soon as they could. As we did not have full confidence in the venue, we ended up hiring separate day of" coordinators to help with the running of the wedding day

Wow!! We had our wedding here on Saturday 9th October and my goodness how fantastic it was. Such a beautiful place to get married in and our day was perfect from start to finish. Michelle and the owners were wonderful and I cant thank them enough for making it so incredibly special. I would also like to say a special thank you to Julie, who was with me from just before the start of the ceremony fluffing my dress and looked after me until the very end making sure I was happy. All of my guests have told me what a stunning place this is to get married and what a fantastic day and night they had! So from the bottom of our hearts, Thank you Michelle Julie and everyone at Hatfield Place for just making our day the most wonderful day of our lives!Lots of love Mr & Mrs Siggins xxx

BEST DAY EVER!!!Thank you to all at Hatfield for providing us with the most amazing day of our lives. From the moment I was a bridesmaid in 2019 at the venue, I knew I needed Michelle to run my wedding. Michelle is honestly amazing & I fully trusted in her ability to be able to run our perfect day & I was right to do so!Our day went so smoothly & all of the staff were incredible! Special mention to Lisa & Shaun & Katrina (S&K). Everyone who works there are so so friendly, polite and just lovely to be around! S&K’s food was unreal & lots of guests have mentioned how amazing it was!Breakfast was brilliant with a great spread the morning of the wedding. Everything is thought of and allows for a calm morning. The dressing room is beautiful and has everything you could need. We loved that there was somewhere for the groom and groomsman to get ready too!Ian & Alison, the owners, are both so lovely and were both there on the day & were there to say goodbye the morning after. You can tell they love helping create peoples special days! Michelle, thank you will never be enough. Honestly, we are so so pleased with how everything ran on the day. It was better than we could have ever wished for.Honestly, everything was perfect. The venue, the rooms, the breakfast, the food. Everything.Best venue ever!! Very disappointed!. Poor communication.. Filthy.. Guest injury from broken glass from previous event and no apology given.. Dress damaged by fault in the property and they had no care in the world, just continued smiling at me as I balled my eyes out. Hadn't even got out of the ready room and wedding day had not even started.. Poor customer service.. Rude cleaners.. Personal belongings and gifts dissappeared. (theft). Bridal suite filthy, dangerous rugs, no cold water, swealtering due to boiler in room, poor sleep.. Overpriced wines at £32 a bottle for a £5 bottle of wine.. No compensation other than giving us bottles of wine that were charged for and not drunk on the day.. Slogan is 'Exclusively yours' and they showed other people around the venue on our wedding day! Husband went to introduce self only to find out they were complete strangers.. Overpriced rooms especially when they are filthy and bedding smelling foul.. Kicked out of room early by cleaners.. Cleaning occuring throughout the day disturbing speeches etc.. Ruined first look with father.. I was injured by the garland on the stairs as my veil got caught multiple times resulting in whiplash and physiotherapy after the wedding, again no care from the venue.. Moved personal belongings around wothout permission leading to difficulty finding things and things left behind.. Also poor sleep due to great bit fire escape light that kept us up due to being so bright.I could probably just keep going on. Cost stated is half of what we paid for the overall wedding. So you would think paying nearly 40k for a wedding you would get a lot better than this!Unfortunately dont have more photos as who expects to take photos on their wedding day of a filthy venue?
