Stifford Hall Hotel, Thurrock

We recently had our Wedding here and I have to say it was perfect. A special mention to Amanda who helped us plan it all and made the whole process reassuring and absolutely delivered on the day along with her whole team. We literally couldn't have done it without her! Everyone was super super friendly and accommodating on the day and made everyone feel special and welcome. We went for the BBQ option for the day (even though it was raining!) and were not disappointed - I just wish I could've eaten more! The surrounding grounds made a nice backdrop for our photos and they even allowed the use of a drone from our Videographer. It was really nice to just chill out under the canopy in the evening when the party was happening. The room was clean, tidy and spacious and they even put petals and towel swans on our bed which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was great in the morning which we enjoyed with the rest of our family and friends. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough and if you're looking to get married in the area it's worth checking out. Amanda and the team are amazing! Thanks so much, M & D.

The only thing this place has going for it are the friendly staff and the location. The photos they show are deliberate and carefully done.Firstly - the quality of the rooms and the corridors will remind you of nasty American Motel.Secondly - the interior or the room we stayed in was like a poor rip off of of IBIS! But as others have said, it all feels a bit grubby and unclean. There was quite a bit of mould in the shower seals and in between tiles. the extractor fan was clogged up with grime and thick dust - not great if you have asthma or COPD etc. There were marks in the sink which I can only describe as possible cigarette burns.Thirdly - the breakfast is absolutely shocking. If you are paying £13 PER PERSON, you should get bigger portions and the quality should be standard. These scramblrd eggs were tiny and I suspect they were cooked in the microwave. Yuk.We were only here because we had a wedding nearby and didn't want to travel first thing in the morning, so we checked in here the night beforeOh also, I just remembered I happened to notice the obscure signs about parking charges needed to be paid in advance. If You don't, you may get hit with a big fine. The person checking us in didn't tell us this. In fact when I mentioned it, he was like yeah sure you can pay later or pay now". It clearly says on the signage that you must pay in advance. They aren't going to pay any fine through their negligence.Unfortunately also at this visit

I have just stayed at this hotel for a wedding that was being held there. I can't fault anything. Quiet rooms, comfy beds, staff that can't do enough for you. The wedding itself was so well done, lovely decorations, great food and perfect choice of music from the DJ. Highly recommend.

Nice old house converted to hotel. Old part has plenty of character and some nice original pieces. Room was bigger than expected and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, cooked to perfection, piping hot and great quality.

We were in contact with Joanne to plan our event and she was incredibly helpful start to finish. In the run up to the event Joanne was always contactable to answer any questions and sort amendments, even last minute visits to check things over she was available to help with. She made every step of the day run smoothly, and always managed to appear when you needed her. The venue was everything we needed it to be for the event, and the food was great too. Plus the vegan option was very tasty, and vegan cheesecake was perfect! All around it was a great experience and everyone had a fun time. I would definitely consider booking again for future events.

I have recently logged at Stifford Hall Hotel, Thurrock hotel for a night and the place was amazing.I can't fault anything. Quiet rooms, comfortable beds, amazing staff. I had great food and perfect reception. I Highly recommend.

Nice place if you're having a wedding. Room was OK for a couple of nights. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good

Booked to a work trip and couldn’t recommend more because of the staff..Maison,Emily,Monica were fantastic serving our group,always with a smile and very helpful for everything that we needed. The lowest point on the hotel in my point of view it’s the cleaning. Specially balconies and the toilets on the rooms.The water pressure in the shower could be improved as well.

The hotel is very convenient for an overnight stay before a cruise from Tilbury which is only a short taxi trip away. It is also a venue for weddings and it looks like it would work well with a lovely outside area. Breakfast was excellent. There is a good choice for dinner with separate restaurant and bar menus. The hotel is very comfortable with a lot of ground floor rooms. Parking is not free but costs £3. Stifford is a pretty village and I enjoyed a walk around it.

We had our wedding at Stifford Hall Hotel and we can honestly say we are so glad we chose this venue to have our special day at. The help and patience and everything Joanne and Amanda and the team done for us was above and beyond, nothing was a problem , everyone who worked there were polite, friendly and very helpful. The food was stunning, the way they orchestrated the whole wedding to run so smoothly was amazing and many of our friends and family have said how the day flowed so well and how great the food was. Would highly recommend this venue as they really do make the day feel so special.
