The Chapel Bar and Bookshop, Broadstairs
Excellent spot at any time. During Broadstairs Folk week well worth an extra effort to go there for a decent variety of acts. The choice of real ales is very acceptable. I had Wantsum Session Pale Ale. I would definitely have it again. The darling had a dry white followed by a Bloody Mary that apparently more than hit the spot.

Couldn't get enough of this place.Cool venue, an old chapel that became a bookshop that became a pub. Great selection of ales, largers and ciders. Also does good cheeses and nibbles.Staff are friendly and knowledgeable with helpful advice on choosing what to drink should you need it. It's away from the beach and facing the highsteet but perfect for an evening drink with friends.Did not have enough time to taste all I wanted, will have to return! No TV from what I saw. They occasionally host live music.

Lovely staff and an authentic venue filled with old books and interesting people. A must-visit for people seeking out nice drinks in a relaxed, characterful atmosphere.

Just want to say thanks to Sarah for making our late afternoon/evening at The Chapel so enjoyable on our day out to Broadstairs, it’s always been a favourite of ours, she went above & beyond & we left with 3 books, stomachs full of snacks & obviously a few drinks! We were there celebrating our wedding Anniversary & it was a great end to the day, so thank you so much, we’ll be back as soon as we can!P.S. Thank god all the Brew dog beers are gone! Xx

Really cool little place that we have been visiting for years. Previously a chapel, then a bookshop and now a pub and bookshop! Extensive cider range and beers on offer from kegs. Occasional live music performed here. Well worth a visit for a more unique drinking spot!

Great selection of beer and cider, very friendly, fantastic decor (ex-chapel and now library) and good entertainment.

Thoroughly enjoyed my two visits! Great live music ( Steve Gifford & Julie Peat ); a member of staff was very helpful in helping me to choose the perfect drink and the atmosphere was joyful and light!

The Chapel Bar is an absolute must on a visit to Broadstairs. An incredible bookshop in an historic Chapel from centuries ago, imagine church and library atmosphere, smell and serenity... then add proper beers and wines and it all adds up to one of the best and most original pubs in the UK. Go see for yourselves and respect it - it must stay this way!

Disappointing. I was really looking forward to visiting here from where I live in Swalecliffe. I thought it would be a great place to have a pint and a peruse. It isn’t. The books just seem to be the rejects from a second hand bookshop and there was no encouragement to flick through. And prices were ridiculous - nearly nine pounds for one particular pint although the barman did warn me about that. I stayed for about an hour and during the majority of that time I was the only customer. I can’t recommend the place and wouldn’t go back. The only good thing is you can walk straight from the street to their toilet.
