Hinton Park Woodland Burial Ground & Funeral Director

Recently my lovely mother Kathleen Ivy Simpson was buried at The Hinton Park Woodland Burial Ground. I would just like to thank every one at The Hinton Park Woodland Burial Ground for looking after my Mum on her last and final journey to GOD. They helped me through a very difficult and sad day. Understanding and respecting my disability [Cerebral Palsy] since birth. 26 people [out of 40] were at Mums Funeral and the buffet was lovely as well. Once again to every one at The Hinton Park Woodland Park Burial Ground Thank You. I will be buried their too along with my Mum and Dad. Until we meet again GOD BLESS!"

Dad made a fantastic choice for his burial and our funeral director Tom helped us through the sad process superbly. He also conducted the burial ceremonies with great dignity and respect. The established woodlands are beautiful and will create a wonderful destination to visit in the future for anyone wishing to remember Dad in the earthly environments he loved.

This used to be quite a beautiful, tranquil, reflective space to sit and reminisce Our dad loved to go and sit and chat to his wife and son who are both buried there. Now to our absolute horror its like a derelict scrub land!! Its long grass, in parts almost waist high grass and weeds You can't read the plates to see who the grave belongs to, and in parts where the grass has been cut to allow a sort of path, plates have been left strewn across the path How very sad is this, I don't really understand I have spoken and written to Hinton and have been assured that there are on the case. I'm afraid that is little comfort to us It should never have been left in the first place We have all paid good money for our loved ones resting place the state of the grounds shows just total disrespect How very sad !!

Sadly there was an option to give no stars so begrudgingly I am giving it one. Both my grandparents have been cremated and have rose bushes here and over the years there have been issues with the burial ground being unkempt but nothing compares to the shocking state of the burial ground this week. I am utterly disgusted at how overgrown the grounds were to the extent that we were unable to find the name plaques. We do not live close by and don’t visit very often so haven’t been in 3-4 months but it is clear to see that nothing has been done to maintain the grounds for months. This is a shambles and a complete lack of respect to those buried and cremated there. It seems you are happy to take peoples money and then no longer maintain the site and just hope no one complains. This is not the first time I have raised a similar issue with the grounds but this time it was so much worse. Sort it out and show some respect.

Everyone at woodlands has been amazing. Especially Hanna. We sadly brought my baby daughters ashes here in June this yr, and she is now resting in the very peaceful Ladybird Garden. Hanna took our service for us and beautifully read through my daughters order of service. I cant thank her enough for everything from her initial advice right through to the service. We have been visiting Woodlands for 15yrs since my Grandma passed away, its such a beautiful and peaceful setting. Thankyou. X

Hinton Park Burial Ground was chosen by mum before she passed away - what a great choice...it is beautiful. Cannot fault. This is a beautiful place to have a funeral. All of the staff were warm, friendly, helpful & very accommodating from start to finish. It was a lovely service & buffet and many of our guests commented on how they had managed to make a sad occasion actually very pleasant. I highly recommend them if you need to plan a funeral.

I came in to ask about prices for a cremation plot for my late mother-in-law. The lady I spoke to was unsmiling & frankly I felt like I was a nuisance.She reluctantly found me some prices after a lot of difficulty.Since Co op took over it is not the same here and the prices have risen to shocking levels - when I asked about the £295 administration fee I was told it is to 'raise an invoice'.Not a happy experience & its a shame as its such a beautiful place.

We had a wonderful funeral director who took care of our Mum and her wishes. He came all the way out to Wimborne to visit Mum in person before she passed. This gave her great comfort. Due to Covid 19 we had to change original arrangements ,but we ended up with a very personalised small graveside service. It was very special.The advice,compassion and respect shown to us was exceptional. Many ,many thanks to RS and his wonderful team.

Couldn’t even find my parents graves today it’s so overgrown and unkept. Never seen it like this. Many name plaque’s have been flattened to the ground with people searching through the undergrowth to find family plots. Gave up and came home with dads Father’s Day flowers.
