James and his team have built a wonderful business. One that supports local jobs in Hebden Bridge as well as many more in Afghanistan. His story about his time serving in Afghanistan and building lifelong friendships with the local traders is fascinating & inspirational. The quality of the products is first class and Fairtrade accredited. We love our Donkey Cushions for the dogs and will hopefully be able to get a big rug for living rooms in the future. I recommend them to anyone looking for furnishings of the highest quality and authenticity. First class!

Popped in on Christmas Eve to grab a last minute present for my mum. The chap working there was very helpful as were the two customers in there, Gaynor Lee Greenwood and her friend.Mum was delighted with her cashmere scarf and I left the store elated with the service I recieved.

We've popped in every time we've been in Hebden for the last few years and finally took the plunge! The guys are so helpful and knowledgeable and the rugs are 100% fair trade. Can't recommend them highly enough. The rug really brings the living room together and our flat is finally starting to feel like a home.

Just bought a khawaja roshnai carpet from The Afghan Rug Shop. Its an absolutely magnificent carpet and James was very helpful. Really nice that the rugs are fair trade, not made in a factory etc. Can't recommend this place highly enough and five stars is insufficient.

This shop is the jewel in Hebden Bridge’s crown. James and his staff really know their stuff and are very helpful. I loved the ‘try before you buy’ service you provide to ensure we got it right. Fantastic experience with James. This is a great UK business supporting local master craftsmen in Afghanistan. Traditional carpet making must not die out and communities in places like Afghanistan need our support after many treacherous years of hardship. The rug is beautiful and feels soft like butter under my bare feet. Highly recommended. Delivery was extremely prompt too.

We would highly recommend The Afghan Rug Shop. We are absolutely thrilled with the gabeh rug we purchased. James was helpful, polite and hand delivered it for us to try out. The quality and craftsmanship of the product are incredible. We feel lucky to have such a striking and unique rug in our new home. We are looking forward to visiting the shop once things return to normal. All round, a 5 star experience!
