We visited the zoo as a couple, my wife and I had a great time walking around at our leisure - a well maintained, tidy zoo where the animals looked well looked after. Our only negatives were the industrial looking habitats of the primates and the extortionate food prices. Otherwise, we had a fantastic day out.

Brilliant value for money, we paid £25 and can return when ever we want next year too.The zoo isn't huge and can be done in a ay, but u Dan get really close to the animals either between glass or by the way the enclosed is designed. All the animals have plenty to do especially in the newer enclosures n look happy.Food and drink in the park is not badly pried and not over inflated plus check out the catch fish and chip restaurant where the freshly cooked chips are not greasy and cooked fresh, a large portio is enough for 2.Definitely worth the money n not to be missed if in area.

Very impressed with Twycross Zoo especially with the Gruffalo trail. My youngest son loved it and me! Captured the whole story with lots of interactive parts and even real animals! The zoo itself was fabulous! They have really thought about the details of your experience there. Even the ladies toilets had leaf cutting ants by the sinks.!The gibbon enclosure was my favorite. The inside viewing area was ideal especially as it started pouring down just as we got in! The spaces for the animals were larger than other zoos I've visited. The tiger in closure was so different. My only negative was the soft play area in the entrance. You had to pay £6 to use or £3 if you had an annual membership. To have all the 4 apes to see was so nice!Highly recommend going.!

Came as a couple and obviously it is more tailored to families with children but we still had a really good time. There was a wide range of animals and you can easily spend a whole day here. It did rain really heavily but there was places to shelter. Parking was free too which is always nice. Booked online in advance and got the yearly return ticket which is good!

This review is based wholly on my personal experience as I do not like zoos but I had to go for work supporting a disabled person. I'm sure little kids love it as there is plenty for them to do besides looking at the animals. For me it was very disappointing and a bit sad. Some animals are on their own which again is quite sad and others are put in enclosures, behind electric fences, and on the day I visited, most could not be seen. I was impressed with the 2 giraffes there as I'd never appreciated how big and graceful they were, but they were not out in the open. I didn't see the rhino, the leopard or much of the gorilla due to them being hidden away or out of view. I know people have to make a living and Twycross employs nearly 250 people, but to see these magnificent animals imprisoned really made me quite sad and emotional. It's purely my own opinion, I'm sure the animals are very well cared for, but I didn't enjoy my visit. The kids there seemed to enjoy the non-animal related activities more. I visited the gift shop and found the prices to be rather high for what you get, especially the cuddly toys. The smallest and cheapest being £5.99. Overall, I'd much rather see animals in their natural environment and I wonder how useful places like this are at ensuring exotic wildlife are protected against poachers, environmental factors and human interference.

After being sad at the condition of some of the enclosures (some of which i remember being the same on a visit more than 20years ago) on a previous visit a few years ago and the amount of empty enclosures I wasn't expecting much at all when I visited this time. I was pleasantly surprised on this visit. I can see where improvements have been and are being made and it was really nice to see some of the works that were underway last visit completed. Gruffalo land is a lovely addition and it's nice to see something other than dinosaurs as the kids area at a zoo.I think the process of booking ticket, getting in to the zoo is so easy and the team on the entrance were really helpful. In spite of how busy the car park was when we arrived at 10.30 it was really quick and easy to get parked up and in to the zoo.I had a wonderful visit absolutely making the most of the seeing some of my favourite animals (chimpanzees, gorillas, and the snow leopards). My favourite enclosures are the Chimpanzees, Tigers, Snow Leopards and the Gibbons.I will happily keep visiting the zoo as they need people coming in and spending money to enable them to spend more on rejuvenating the older enclosures and parts of the zoo.The current offer of visit once and come back for the year makes it a perfect day out for families. The facilities/play areas for kids are really great. There are also plenty of spaces to sit and relax for people with low or limited mobility. The food and drink seemed competitively priced based on recent visits to other zoos.

A really nice day out. Staff are enthusiastic (especially the young lady in the butterfly house with the tapir pin badge-so sorry I forgot your name but our son really enjoyed hearing all of your knowledge!) and friendly. The animals appear well cared for and as happy as is possible when in captivity.I found the whole park accessible by wheelchair, and accessible toilets are large enough to turn around rather than reverse out!Lots of blue badge parking right outside the entrance.Tickets are very reasonably priced. There are a few food kiosks on site but they have been closed when we have visited, which I found odd as both visits have been during half term. We had a picnic with us so it didn't matter, and there is a small Costa Coffee serving hot and cold drinks in the main building. There is a large soft play in the main building where grown ups can sit and enjoy a coffee whilst supervising their little ones. This should be pre-booked and I believe it costs £6 for a one hour free-play. Suitable for up to 12 years as a guide.I've read a lot of negative reviews of the park, saying it was run down (I didn't feel it was at all), that there is nowhere to get a hot drink (there is a Costa Coffee on site) and that the food is overpriced (in this economy, £11 for fish and chips is pretty average). If you don't want to pay restaurant prices, just bring a picnic-there's plenty of places to sit and eat your own picnic. I've also seen reviews saying the wheelchair access is poor. I'm interested to know where they are referring to as I found it accessible in my battered old power chair.Isn't it funny how two people can have completely different reviews of the same experience!

Fantastic visit as it had been years ago since I last went. Lovely walk around and plenty to see. My favourite parts were the primates. The staff are very friendly and helpful also the parking is free and there’s a lot of it. Also a separate area for disabled parking. The actual size of the zoo is good as it’s not too big to walk around it all. Great day out. Recommended

Purchased day tickets in advance, 2 adults and 3 children. Just under £100. Now here's the great bit!!!!!You get to visit all year round, once you book your first visit it upgrades to an annual pass. I believe another 10 visits each. Now that works out to less than £10 a visit for all 5 people. The zoo has really been transformed, lots to see and do. We had a lovely day out. Take a picnic, food a touch on the pricey side if your a large group. Plenty to keep the kids occupied. Give it a go you won't be disappointed. Free parking. Easy walking. Compact.

Absolutely amazing zoo! So lucky to have it on my doorstep! Visited twice recently and captured some great photos on my most recent trip and it was an amazing experience. Seeing the baby gibbon and mum for the first time is something I will never forget and I plan on visiting her again in April. I would like to thank the education staff and all other staff members for their great customer service and support.
