My 5 year old loves it

I have been training and teaching with ISMAA for 27 years and there is no one else I would want to be associated with. The ‘ISMAA’ family and been a massive part of my life and my families.A club with no politics, or big egos, they put the student first. Shaun and his team have lots of experience and they are a club for all levels. Whether it’s a 4 year old starting his/her journey or an experienced international competitor.

I train with Shaun at Inner Strength Martial Arts academy 3 times a week with my 2 children. This club has been amazing: friendly, inclusive and has brought a wealth of knowledge to all of us. Thanks to Shaun’s amazing coaching, patience and commitment, my son holds 5 world titles which will be with him forever. His lessons are so varied, well structured and ensure and incredible progression, no matter what your level is. He covers Kata, Kumite and self-defense. I am a runner and thanks to these classes, am no longer scared to run on my own. I think that just like swimming, these are skills everyone should have in life.

My son trains with Shaun. He loves every second! Shaun is the perfect mix of encouragement without pressure and teaching techniques. He's an excellent instructor with everyone who attends, all ages!

My son attends the GB squad sessions with Shaun and his team. They have made him feel welcome even though he trains elsewhere. They have offered support and guidance and helped improve his technique. Can highly recommend.

Shaun taught our kids for over a year, he is sooo patient and kind and really goes above and beyond. The kids all adore him as hes such a good mix of hard work, authority, fun and above all calmness. Our kids eventually competed and even when (because of the distance from the club) we stopped attending classes, he was always interested in how they were getting on, cheered them on and even offered Zoom lessons during the lockdown. Shaun's club is super friendly and welcoming, a really good crowd of fun people, who all support each other.

We signed our 10 year old up for a trial because he was painfully shy and we thought it might give his confidence a bit of a boost.3 and a half years later he is due to take his black belt, he has been selected to fight for the Great British Martial Arts Team and he has won a couple of World titles for his age group.All thanks to the efforts or Sensei Shaun and his team.
