The shrimp/prawns was like coop standard. The jacket potato was microwaved. The milk for the milkshake was sour and gave me a belly ache

Haven't tried any of the food yet under the new ownership, however I did notice on the menu that one scoop of ice-cream in a cone costs £3.50 which is a huge price increase from last year with the previous owners. Also I bought a can of Fanta orange to take away and it cost me £2.00. I couldn't believe it. Very expensive. I'm sorry but no way should a can of soft drink cost £2.00 from a takeaway kiosk.

Nice location next to the river as the name suggests.Quick transaction at the till and polite helpful staff.Ice cream sundae was completely melted by the time it was served so essentially a milkshake with brownies in it.Would I eat or drink here again is just a matter of can I be bothered, I’ve only visited this cafe once so they might been having an off day in the kitchen who knows as I’ve only got this first impression to go on.On the plus side for parents of small children there’s a play frame in the shape of a ship which will keep them occupied while you have a rest.Stop and try them out would be my recommendation although I have marked them down for my visit it’s a nice location with plenty of tables and lovely on a sunny day. There is also plenty of space inside on a day when it’s less sunny.

Very well organised and very nice afternoon tea. We had a lovely time sitting watching the swans. Great scones at good prices

Lovely location but not the best experience. Was told very abruptly by the woman taking orders that barely anything I asked for was available. I was then told the eggs were from caged hens. Not massively impressed and expensive for what it was - essentially paying for location

Under new ownership - ice cream prices have raised to extortionate level - can’t see it being a place the locals will continue to go to go on this basis. Ice cream also not frozen enough. In fairness not tried any of the food. Staff pleasant. Place looks tacky and down market now with an excessive amount of signage and a display styled like river flotsam - shame.

This cafe was absolutely lovely! The atmosphere was friendly, polite and happy! The young ladies working the till for us were welcoming, friendly and both had a smile on their face! Our bacon (with hash brown) Baps were near enough perfect! The Bap itself was delicious and the hash browns were cooked amazingly!Highly highly recommend!Would give 6/5 but I can’t unfortunately!

Just had coffee and tea both excellent quality. I met a friend and we sat outside, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and professional.

Decided to try the veggie breakfast, cooked well, warm plate makes all the difference, excellent location next to the river with Seals to be seen at certain times of year.I'd recommend coming here even just for coffee as nice and relaxing.
