I am selling a property and my buyer is using this solicitor. We were informed 3 days ago that our file handler is now not in work due to an emergency and has instructed that no one else handle his cases while he is not in work. We were meant to be completing our sale today but this is now postponed indefinitely!My own solicitor, our estate agent, and indeed, everyone who I have mentioned this matter to, have all expressed that this is very strange behaviour and no way to conduct business. To specifically state that no one can complete this work in one person's absence is, at best, extremely unprofessional. People are waiting to move house. Whitefield Solcitors has literally put people's lives on hold for no good reason. I have emailed them to ask for further information regarding this, but they have not had the courtesy to reply.
